Driver Hire - Karachi

I am going to hire a Driver for my parents in Karachi
(Already interviewed 3 candidates)

Duty will be from 8:00 AM- 6:30 pm
Monday - Saturday ( all gazetted holidays will be given)
Cars Driven : 2001 CIvic & 2003 Cultus.
Around 35 KMS in total driving daily
Both Cars are well maintained
He has to clean Both the cars everyday.
Will be given a 2 hour break for lunch between 1:00 pm - 3: pm depending on daily errands.( He will arrange his own lunch)

My dad use to pay the previous driver Rs/-6000

What should be the monthly salary?
How much do you guys pay?

Gone are the days of 6,000

If you are in defence clifton or even gulshan, the standard rate starts from 7 and goes on till 9. Since you wont give him lunch, and he will also have to come and go back every day and use transport for it, I think 9 is minimum

in my experience (defence area) typically going rate is 8K...with one time food and tea. 12 hour shift. sundays off+sick days. no other holidays without permission. if he lives far then he most probably won't show up for any transport strike days. good luck. make sure you check his nic and get a copy plus his drivers license.

My parents are aged and cannot get in the hassle of providing food/tea.
Of course water will be provided
the 3 guys i interviewed are asking
guy 1-6900 (approx 15-20 minute walk to my residence)
guy 2-7000 (public transport)
guy 3- 8500 (has his own cycle)

Go for candidate number 1....living nearby has many benefits, both for the driver as well as employer.

Your parents can call him up anytime in case of emergency.

Owning a mobile phone is a must for your driver.

I pay Rs 6000/- per month. But duties are very light and flexible.

@championstheme you live in US and it is well known fact that one can not have these luxuries of having drivers, maids etc over there (unless you are ultra rich) that we can have in PK. It is only coz ppl are poor over there.

So, i'd just request on humanitarian grounds to give a little bit more to whoever you hire as it will have multiple benefits..

-] the guy will not leave for other job easily as you will be paying above market.

-] he will try to be more dedicated coz he'd know he is being paid good.

-] above all you will get blessing of God for helping poor.

we pay 8,000 with no food.
Getting an honest and reliable driver is difficult these days.

1-2k is not a big amount. But the driver should be presentable and honest.

Salary ranges between 6-9 depending on timings.

We pay extra 100-200 for sundays or late nights.

Hire the one near ur home as khi is prone to strikes and drivers usually dont show up on strikes even if they have their own bike.

i live in PECHS.we pay driver 8,000 with 3 times food.

he has to do 3 car wash.lives abt 5-10 mins walk from my house.

duty hours r not fixed.comes at 7 during school days otherwise 9 and stays till dinner which is given b/w 10-10.30
