Driving karachi to islamabad on fresh import car

Assalamualaikum. I was looking for an advice, i have imported a car from japan and coming to karachi to pick it up. I need to drive it back to islamabad, just wondering if i can drive an unregistered car on motorway. Is there any problem. Or can i get some sort of temporary permission.

I am a frequent traveller on M2 motorway lahore - Islamabad
very common to see unregistered applied for .. on this segment

My brother got his corolla registered after 2 years , june 23, with many trips to mianwali , DI KHAN , ISLAMABAD etc

2x times paid fine of PKR 750. On motorway entry point
Both times it was sial interchange

Why don't you get it transported to isb

I want to get registered in islamabad as i live there, plus im coming to pakistan and had to meet my relatives in karachi so i thought i will save money by driving it back myself. Right now transportation cost is over 50k plus my airfare to khi-isb. So i think its a economical decision, plus i see many cars on the road with AFR 2023 number plates. And some drive it for more than a year like that. Was just wondering if cops will be trouble on motorway. I will have all the import documents plus AFR number plate.

Is there a law regarding it? Other countries have temporary plates and insurance to move cars etc. Does licensing centre in pakistan offer such services?

you can contact traffic police or motorway police through their phone numbers and ask if any such provision is available.
in lahore, police is very vigilant these days to catch any unregistered or unpaid yearly token cars.
