My driving license expired in September 2016 and i was eager to get it renewd as soon as possible. Went to DHA K Block (Phase 1) Ghazi Road office (opposite the CNG Pumps in the Gourment outlet lane) on Friday. The following documents are required for renewal:
- Original CNIC
- Original License
- CNIC Photocopy
- 2 passport size photographs
- Renewal Fee
- Copy of Lincense (not required but as you'll be handing over your original license to them, you should keep a copy with you)
Office timings are till 3 pm (12 on Fridays). Renewal fee is Rs. 1,200 although it can increase if the license expired some time ago (the formula is not known). You can get your license renewed a few weeks prior to expiry as well (which i did not know).
I went to the office around 11 am on Friday. Filled the Form. (Form can be downloaded from CTP Lahore as well). Filled the courier envelope on which the license will be delivered. The person there attached the form, CNIC copy, photographs and expired license to a file cover and asked me to go inside the computer room. Once inside the room, photograph was captured and i paid the fee to the uniformed officer there (no receipt or challan was issued). Filled the register with my particulars, signed and thumb-marked it. I was told that i would receive my license within 10 days through courier at my indicated address.
The whole process took less than 10 minutes, but there were hardly 5 persons apart from me, so it appeared to be a less busy day.
