Driving wrong way - When will we ever understand the consequences!?

Driving wrong way has become a culture in Karachi. People look to save a few bucks on petrol, a few minutes on time or may be to avoid a bumpy road put many lives and families in danger everyday. In my opinion such an offense should be treated as manslaughter. Please avoid driving wrong way at all costs, educate your friends and families against it. I think Pakwheels should start a campaign against it.

The driver in this particular case lost control due to oncoming wrong way traffic.

The injured were transferred to jinnah hospital, when my friend recieved the call he just rushed to the hospital. We had no idea how the incident took place until the driver got back into his senses.

All over pakistan its a habit to use wrong way to save a few drops of petrol or time and most of the small or big accident that happens are due to wrong side driving.....

i was in a similar incident but thanks ALLAH i was able to move out of the way just inches from touching the oncoming idiot..felt very sad for the driver behind me as he had no idea and went head on into the collision he was safe but was very tragic moment for us all ..in such cases triffic police sholud be standing at such points where drivers usually do this step ...MAY her SOUL REST IN PEACE and the family have enough strenght to spend rest of there time without her......

Driving wrong way.. Well a big problem here. In all cases the driver is under influence of drugs or alcohol. 2 years ago a women here fee miles from here driving a van in wrong way on highway, killed 8 people on the spot including children. She was high on alcohol at that time.. This is murder. Sometime people want to just make u turns at illegal spots, don't realize what they are doing. I wish driver is such accident survive and then hanged later.. What an irony.

And I loathe drivers on the wrong side of the road, I make it a point to either give them a stare, a wtf look, a very long honk or (usually) intentionally drive towards them so that they pee in their pants and for atleast a second, realize what they're doing is wrong.

You're risking yours and others lives just to save some drops of fuel, shame on you!!!

I am sure the culprits must have fled the scene without stopping to help them. I would have wrote that they will be feeling guilty and the so called ZAMEER will taunt them forcing em to get back to u ppl and ask for apology but NO zameer reha hee kidhar hai. janwarun se bat tar hogaye hain hum.
Jahan tak ulti side pe jana hai , people nowadays are in habit of this and feel proud in doing so.
A similar incident happend to me on indus highway near karak where the road has gone bumpy at one side so people change to the lane of incoming traffic and then leave the lane when the incoming vehicle is on their head.
Mostly the truck drivers do not bother to change lanes again n again with their heavy trucks and they continue on the wrong side and force u to jump on opposite lane with indicators and giving dippers. but some how if they get an idea about the speed of incoming vehicle they leave the track but still accidents happen on that road n that ordinary ones, bloody accidents.
Once I was on my way to my village when a long trailer's driver refused to get off the way and we stopped inches away from each other head to head and he gave a furious look pointing with his hand to get off the way. He was giving throttle producing loud noise giving a gesture as he is about to hit my car.
I was with my family and meanwhile in truck's cabin two more persons who were sleeping in the place behind seat popped up and all 4 or 5 of those mor0ns stated making dirty signals with their hands. In extreme anger I left the way for him and he moved ahead giving me winner's smile on his dirty face.
I gave up senses as the loaded trailer crawled by my side and pulled out my ak74u rifle from beneath the seat , stepped down and took very easy aim of the mammoth tires and as they started exploding with big bangs ,that sound was like someone pouring cold water over me. I felt so relaxed. I took out all the tires of left side and two rear tires of right side. I kept waiting that now they will step down but those cowards kept sitting inside. After that I boared my vehicle n floored it with relaxed mind.
Like ravgar said this is a 302 case. Our society has gone to dogs. There is not an iota of courtesy in people now. Shameless people and you have to get dirty to deal them.
May Allah have mercy on us. Sorry for the long story but listening to such incidents just shoot up my blood pressure and I cant resist to express my anger. I am clueless where we are heading as a nation.

Even in civilized coutries there are mad and drunk drivers doing insane stuff.... How?? Can you ever expect not to deal with a road accident ever in your life? And then all of us complain.. sometimes its a blame game, sometimes its someone clearly the culprit...

But dear friends, lives are lost not due to people doing irresponsible driving, but by us - not wearing the seatbelts....

We hate Jap cars for the very reason they come with all sorts of latest life saving equipment.. we say its expensive to fix if crashed... people are irritated by the seatbelt reminders... they do anything to stop those reminders!!
But NO one... wears a seatbelt..

If there were all occupants wearing seatbelts in the car, a headon collision would have been much more feasable! I know there would dtill have been injuries... but a car is desgined to take a hard impact on the front, not on the doors!

Only if the family travelling would have been proactive and responsible lives and injuries could have been saved....

This is a scoiety that has a very long way to go.... even education is not helping us, this is a mind set!

Yes seatbelts are indeed very important.

To go for a headon collision can never be a driver's first instinct. It does not matter how many seat belts you are wearing, as a driver you will always avoid a head-on. May be side airbags might have helped but the car did not have those. Front airbigs did deploy and the front passengers did walkaway with only a few fractures.
