@Zia:
Dry battery is much better in every sense but as far as Pakistan goes i cant say anything about the importers here. Many of the battery that are coming here are scrap/defected and being sold as new, i know this because i have been importing UPS for 4 years now and i do buy these batteries alot. Dry battery are maintenance free and you never need to check water levels or anything. If 40AH is written it will actually be 40AH, as for wet battery even if it says 65AH i can't say if its correct.
Why i say this is because if you buy a 40AH dry battery and 40 wet battery, hook it up to a UPS. The dry battery gives almost double the backup the wet battery gives.
Dry batteries are environment friendly too, wet batteries have been banned in many countries for cars because fumes of acid are always coming out of them, thats why we never install a wet battery with a UPS, which is placed in an airconditioned room because the room is closed and people inside with the passage of time will develope some type of desease or illness because of them (which you might never notice but its true).
The only con i can think of in a dry battery used in a car is that when it goes dead it goes dead : ) its useless no matter what you do with it and you will have to replace it, sometimes only they pick charge, normally they don't. With wet battery, you can charge them and even use almost dead battery for few months till you can buy new.
As long as you buy it from a good dealer you should go for dry battery.
Thanks & best regards,
Farhan
