Dust inside Meter of New Honda City

My 1 year old honda city 1.3 has dust inside its meter. Kindly advise what should i do. Car is just 1 year old and it is very pathetic that dust gain entery into the meter. Car is still under warranty, should i ask for a claim?

Dust aa jati hai since these meters are not sealed. You can open it yourself and clean it.

A colleague of mine claimed for his 2012 city back in the day for the same issue. Of course he had to threaten them legally, then they did it.

Dust will come again though as its not sealed.

I get it cleaned from service station and they have high pressure nozzle to remove the dust. Just like the one we see while getting tyre pressure checked.

This is the reason why dust gets inside your meters.

Interior of a car should be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner not pressurized air. It is common sense.

People are skeptical about cars whose meters are opened. People suspect that someone has tried reversing the mileage.

These cars, like city has a digital meter that cannot be reversed by opening the meter, unlike old cars like cultus that used to have a dial. Then still are people skeptical?

This is the typical area at rpm dial where dust comes and it is solely due to interior compressed air cleaning at service station.

I had my City 2012 with 94k kms driven in 4 years.... not even a single dust particle in the meter coz it was always vacume cleaned internally.....

What you have to do now is to make it open and clean it through car technician. Than later on religiously follow interior vacume cleaning.... do not worry about meter being opened.

quite amazing my 2004 Civic still doesnt have dust intruding inside the meter like this.
