The tax calculator infers that the car is imported through normal regime. How can we import through special regime, where duties are levied on the engine size and not the value of the vehicle? Does it have to be a gift ? Can it only be done once in two years, by a Pakistani living abroad? Or can normal importers use this regime?

i always just wana know the precise duty am mount even 90% accuracy is excelent

if you trust this cal with the current import please let me know as i am goi ng to do some serious imports using this calculator

most likely many will be europien and a few jdm as well

The calculator seems correct as per the current FBR regulations. I just calculated the cost for a vehicle that a friend is going to import for which the calculator gives about 5% less in value... not sure which one is correct though but a good tool for ball park estimations.

Hope you are fine. I saw your post of SRO 52/1 and it cleared many things for me. I wanted to ask few things but couldn't find option to reply on that post so taking liberty to write here.

I am an overseas filer Pakistani and planning to import Nissan Note e-power 2018 1200cc (1st priority) or Vitz 2018 1000cc.

My first priority is to send car under gift scheme to my father (non filer) . But I want to clear few things:

1) Will there be any difference in custom duty and other charges for Filer vs Non filer?
2) After receiving car under gift scheme by father, can registration in Excise department can be done under my name?
3) My father details should be required on Bill of Lading too or is it enough on Shipping papers only?
4) Can you give an idea about all other charges to get clear car from Port in Pakistan?

nissan e-note is an EV and there is zero support of EV vehicles others then brand owner shops.

if the monies you are sending to your father's account it is tax exempted. please check from your father for filer non filer status. This is high time he shall become a filer, even with zero tax a person can stay filer. Over 60 senior citizens get 50% exemption for taxes.

Customs duty is flat payable as applicable, WHT tax paid at time of clearance is adjustable if the registering person credentials are same as per bill of lading and customs clearance document aka GD.
Also at time of registration with holding tax (WHT) paid is adjustable in annual tax return, as applicable.

MONEY TRAIL is important for any such gift or personal baggage vehicle clearance.

clearance charges are variable as per exchange rate.

to answer your question
1) Yes, as filer difference in duty amount is around Rs.150,000-200,000 on Vitz 1000cc, so it is worth getting filer
2) Registration can be done under anyone name, provided all docs are complete , proper and legal.
3) Your Father detail will come under Notify Party in B./L since your sending as Gift to your father.
4) Rough Expenses estimate of Rs.100,000 to 150,000 excluded duties and taxes.
