DVRS Punjab - Punjab Govt. recently launches Online Dealer Vehicle Registration System.
What is DVRS (Dealer Vehicle Registration System)?
The owners of the new vehicles can now apply for registration at the point of sale as opposed to visiting the taxation department. The dealers, or showroom owners, can now order license plates for their customers from their own outlets.
Steps involved in DVRS
- Customer pays registration fees.
- Amount till be deducted from dealer?s account.
- It will be transferred to the government online.
- Automated receipt will be generated for the customer.
- Customer will be given the license plate after payment.
- Registration book will be sent to E&T department after verification.
- This initiative will save time for not only the citizens and the E &T department, it will also stop the Applied-for-Registration? trend, where cars bearing this tag become a favorite target of car thieves.
Eligibility Criteria for DVRS License
- Any automobile dealer who is dealing in the business of Cars / Motorcycles for the period of last three years
- Having reasonable office premises and IT infrastructure
- Do not have any criminal record of any of its directors, members or partners
- A good credit history report of last six month exhibiting minimum monthly transaction of 3 million rupees
