Guys I drive a 2012 altis cruisetronic. I have hit 180 km/hr, I feel car could have touched 200 km mark. But thing is it felt like a tin can at that speed. I have tried cornering it, it won't corner. Loses firm grip with road at high speeds.
Before this I drove vitz (JDM junk), it used to max out at 140 km/hr but the road grip, the cornering, the control, the sheer pleasure of taking it out on the road was better.
I don't have any qualms over my present ride, it looks beautiful, has a very decent road presence, is practical in going from point A to point B and it retains it's price value. But the road grip and road feedback is missing. Just my 2 cents

I dont belive you could do cornering a Vitz. the only favouring factor for Vitz doing cornering without slipping is its height. Else the danda suspension is bound to slip on cornering at hispeeds.

With Corolla you will never get the feeling of the road gripping the car because of its raised height in Pakistan. You will always have the feeling of flying altho its much less in the 9th Gen, 8 Gen is terrible

Brother, these cars are family sedans. They are meant to be driven safely and slowly. They are definitely not designed to tackle corners at high speeds like you mentioned.

, btw the vitz had no grip, it was your imagination, corolla, camry, vitz etc. Are garbage at high speed.

Wow. 15 - 16 km on long route. And the new shape corolla 1300cc does not even go above 12 on long route.

Haha. No I don't have a death wish, I just test the capability of the car on a flat straight road, I believe one should know the performance envelope of the ride. My argument at the core is this: In apple to apple comparison, 2012 altis Corolla vs JDM sedans like CL7, Premio, MarkX, Axio non hybrid cars are better made, heavier, with lower centre of gravity and better suspension plus braking capacity. The joy of driving these vehicles is more.
Still I am sticking to PKDM cars because I don't want the hassle of maintaining cars without company backup. Believe it there is an actual term used in Pakistan "scrapyard support", which the owners of old JDM cars have to bank on if things go south
