Facing issue with my ac unit also. They say there is carbon in the system so get the whole thing new.

Have you gotten it serviced in the past 9 years?

useful life of these are 100k kilomete

This is the first that I am hearing of this. Didnt have any such issues in any of my corollas

sir technically i tend to disagree with many pointers.

however with the parts quality and tree shed mechanics a new Toyota survival beyond 150,000 kms is miracle. even a Toyota 3S does not have qualified people to super maintain a car.

few years ago i bought a Toyota Camry as daily ride it is now 210,000 miles with plain basic maintenance. Fluid change are done as DIY. Brake fluid flush was tricky so i connected to a Sardar ji workshop he is ex-toyota.

rest of tyres brake pad changes are under oem time line recommendations.

Corolla and mileage goes along. Simply RELIABLE. we have 1998 corolla going on over 300k kms on same engine and sometimes a decade without suspension work

What does servicing an ac unit mean? It's a closed system. All you can do is wash the condenser ,coil. Or is there anything else?
Toyota requires maintenance at every 40k, as per the owners manual. I have done following
As far as maintenance is concerned
At 80k fuel filter changed
At 80 k automatic transmission fluid changed
At 90 K iridium spark plugs changed
At 100k ignition coils changed

Not exactly. But if the ac starts taking load or there is major blockage observed, system is opened up and cleaned through and through, dryer replaced etc

That's the point of a Toyota. You don't need space age technology and master techs to maintain them They are well built and can easily last way longer than what you've said.

Why u replaced timing chain? What was the issue?

I have an issue of sight engine oil seepage under the engine bay. Toyota people think that the timing cover will be removed to check up on transmission and probably a seal there might be leaking. Is this a critical issue that can cause costly repairs later on if not nipped right now? Costs 4500/- labor+2500/- parts.
Also I have always felt a vibration in the steering of my Altis 2012. Toyota during checkup identified engine mounts. 1 front engine mount, attached at the radiator is giving away. Cost they quoted was 15k. Worth it to get it done from them or outside?

@Xulfiqar bhai, i have a 2012 corolla gli genuine driven about 75k kms mainly in twin cities and some on motorway. The ride has become a bit hard and bumpy since a few months and not soft as a corolla in Pakistan is known to be. No sounds or anything from the suspension but does not feel like it used to be. Any pointers on what i should be focusing on? Or is it something i should not bother with as it would not be similar to what it used to be? Agriauto guy in one of the interviews with suneel munj said that shocks last 60k or not more than 6 years in our environment so should i be replacing the shocks? I dont want to spend money and end up with no obvious improvement in comfort hence need your guidance before i go and visit a mechanic please.

Is engine oil minimal seepage critical?

as long as the seepage doesnt result in oil drips. a very miniscule bit seepage is found in almost all engines and equipment to the point that some manufacturers literally use oversize gaskets that look hideous and ugly. But toyota dont use proper gaskets except for the cylinder head and tappet cover, They just RTV the engine casings together (with a very good one though, threebond 1207B) - if the leak gets bad, just have them repack it - its not too crazy.

As I said - i had an incident with the SD card and lost a bunch o pics - I have one or two last ones which I snapped with my phone. first some forewords. This is an all alumnium engine - and you are using steel bolts, PLEASE for the love of almighty use the specified torque and sequences on the fasteners - aluminium and steel behave different at different temperatures, the manufacturer has spent some energy on giving the spec - use them, read the manual and use torque ratchets and clean all …

here you go, look at the pics where Im applying the sealer and then the squished out sealer. Its GM 1207G, which I prefer because

1 - its cheaper and GM dealer is literally 5 mins away from my house
2 - its cleaner because its gray and I can buy it in tubes or caulking gun cartridge too (which I like)
3 - sticks with same tenacious force as toyota sealant.

I have still yet to see a seep or drop of oil from the areas I sealed up - its been years and more than 150K kms.
