Eco & Power mode 1.6 altis corolla

Salam Pakwheelers. Its my first post here on the forums. We want to buy an Altis 1.6 auto 2020. I just want to know about the two switches that say eco mode, power mode. Are those just another marketing tactic or do they really work?

1.6 Altis does not have any of the above switches. Neither eco mode, nor power mode however there is an economy light which turns on when you drive your car lightly

Brother i saw those switches in a few cars. It seems i might have been mistaken. Thanks anyways. Can you tell me anything about the eco light (its performance) etc.

power mode on toyota ect transmissions makes the gears taller n gear shifting done on higher rpms giving driver more power n response from engine

eco mode means that car engine operation within parameter set for best fuel economy

Eco mode and sport mode is there in Grande only

I reckon that it lets you know when you’re driving economically, this improves one’s habit of driving, if that person is used to aggressive acceleration.

only eco mode can be enabled/disabled via the meter cluster in altis 1.6 2017-current model. The only difference it makes is that gear shifting is a bit on high rpms and if you floor the car, it revs upto 7K rpms while on eco mode it revs upto 5.5/6 and shifts the gear

I own a Corolla Altis 1.6 from last year and believe me the Eco indicator light is nothing more than just a gimmick. No difference in fuel economy or performance whatsoever.
