ECU Not communicating ELM327 scanner

Hey guys,

This is my first post ever post on pak wheels.
I have purchased vitz 2009, import 2012 and registered 2014. I am trying to attach ELM327 CAR SCANNER, it will get paired but never got ECU Communication, tried 3 different vendors and from 3 different sellers, got the same result, tried pro version of torque app, dashCommand app, car doctor app, nothing works.

Checked all the fuses, obd2 port is working with professional car scanner with cable, but not working with cheap blue, white and some yellow colored elm scanners.

Just curious if someone tried that and got it worked for him.

Maybe its due to old version 1.5. I am using version 2.1 and working perfectly. Checked it on Vitz Mira Passo and pkdm civic.

Tried the v2.1 as well, nothing works, tried this one as well.

Ive also ordered cheap ELM327 wifi scanner from Ali Express but I haven't received it yet. But after reading the OPs comments here, I think it will not work too and I have wasted my money. Bought it for 956.82 rupees

Try the OBD-II scanner on some other car.

The seller tried the same cheap device on Honda and corolla and according to him there was no issue with device but not working with vitz 2009 model so i am trying to figure out the problem here.

Received my OBD-II elm327 scanner today.

Its a wifi one. Tried connecting it and it worked without any problem. Will post a video in a moment.

PS: The video doesn't have anything special. It only shows the first time connectivity and a few functions

Adapter communicates with the ecu only after the engine is started

Tried that as well the blinking car icon never get stable, it remains in blinking status.
I am not sure what I am missing here. I will try wifi device next time instead Bluetooth.

Yeah I have also heard that. Suzuki Pakistan has locked their ECUs OBD2 and they can be scanned only with the scanners provided by Suzuki. This is only to increase their own revenue by scanning cars for troubles which consumers can do at home if these weren't locked.

This is not true at all.
Suzuki uses JOBD protocol with its own propriety init strings which these softwares doesn't support.
I use Hob Drive from my Suzuki Liana with ELM 327 v1.5 bluetooth adaptor and it works. You can try it too

My elm 327 v2.1 wirks with my city but it doesnt work with my vitz 2009.

Get ELM 327 v1.5 and use Hob Drive software. It will work with Vitz
