EFI on Suzuki Margalla

Dear Friends, AOA

I own a 93 model Suzuki Margalla 1.3L, which is in quite good shape both under n over the hood. I'm planning to get rid of the carburetor and install an EFI kit instead. Will that be possible? If Yes, which manufacturer's EFI can fit in and what would be the cost effect? I need your worthy comments on this issue. Thanks a lot

If u want Efi then go for Baleno, just don't screw up Margalla

Margalla wasn't designed for Efi. Fiddling with its originality might ruin it. But if u realy hv to do it, then fit it with a Cultus Efi engine

u r rite sir. it wasn't designed for that but if v look at a cultus engine (efi n non-efi), v see the only difference of a carburetor replaced with an EFI kit, changed plug wires and ECU. your views??

It is possible but honestly speaking, the beauty of Margalla is its carby engine but choice is urs off course

Well said Asad :)........I also think its possible and for that a Baleno EFI kit might be the right choice cos cultus is 1000cc. I am looking forward to get an expert's view on this who can comment if its really worth it or just a waste of money..thanx

guyz what is so beautiful about carby engine??????
except the fact that only pdm margalla had carby ........(even uptill now as in alto )........
in rest of the world it came with g13B/A MPFI......

The beauty is its reliability & easy to cure if you are on a journey, much better pick & consumption on CNG & off course 100 times better than efi in hilly areas. even altis or civic can't beat margalla in M-2 Salt ranges & on pir sohawa road.

P.S: I owned one 96 Margall, then Baleno 2005 & now Liana-06, so saying this based on personal experience. You may have a different opinion off course

use a baleno engine and a higher pressure fuel pump, reroute the fuel pump wiring that it works off the ECU rather than the alternator, use wider fuel lines, rig a check light for the ECU and you'll be set.

you can use your old transmission.

One ov da best quality of Margalla is it's trouble free carby engine..... Suzuki ruin baleno cz of its faulty,noisy efi engine!!! If u swap baleno's engine in Margalla dn i can only say

"YEH KOI JOUR NAHI"

Thanx SmartDevil.....but i'm not at all advocating a change of engine. Margalla's own engine is doing an awesome job n i'm not even facing any problem as far as its fuel injection is concerned; may that be gas or petrol. I just want its fuel injection to be controlled electronically for better performance. If u guyz think its not gonna work that way or if u think there might be compatibility issues, i'm not going for it. Anyone who has seen or heard of an EFI installed on Margalla??????

Agreed Asad....I don't know why but my Margalla runs smoother n better on gas than petrol. maybe because of a better CNG tuning

margalla shaped swift sedans came with EFI engines but they were outside of Pakistan. What Im seeing here on this post is that people are saying that carburettor is good because they can stop by a local mechanic and he can fix it with his "ustadee"

while completely forgetting that their EFI counterparts are quite powerful and also fuel economical compared to the carby ones.

there are two efi versions of the same engine the fir st is called g13bb and this one came in baleno, it is an sohc 16 valve engine, the second is the legendery g13b dohc which gives 115 hp stock. both are very easy to fit since the block and the mounts are similar, the stock engine is called a g13ba. you also have another option that is called a g16b.

and i must say that efi gives better economy, my carby margalla gives around 8-9 kpl and 150 on gas, while efi g13b dohc engine gives around 14kpl

bhai aap 1.5 ya 1.6 G series engine lagwa lo meray khayal say bolt on fit hai us kay baad toh 1.8 civic bhi dhuan sunghaygii.

agree with Xulfiqar swaping engine is better option.
secondly there is nothing as EFI kit comeonn its not a CNG kit.Go for some JDM g13bb g15 properly swaped will also run good on CNG

you can even make it 4wd, i was going through my car's user manual yesterday and it listed a model that had a g16b and a 4wd system
