Simply put, no. I haven't personally come across it.

Did the clutch get heavier with time? Or did it just happen out of the blue?

I am pretty sure it is the pressure plate/friction disc. In either case, its time to replace the clutch I believe.

Yes the clutch do get heavier with time.
You can say after taking the car out of garage and driving it for not more than 5 kms, the clutch starts getting heavier and do give some type of noise.The noise is not very loud and it comes once in a blue moon.
So, you don't think it is the problem with the gear box?
Because, when the car is off the gears are working normally.

A clutch pressure plate set for alto will cost less than 3000 rupees I believe. Get it changed. You can screw up a car's clutch by driving it for a couple of days with the clutch half pressed, so don't be amazed if it gave up within the first 50k kilometers on the odo.

Its even not good to be too much concious.I drive my car with utmost care.
Thank you dear,I will get it replaced tomorrow.
I just wanted to make up my mind, so that mechanic wont rip me off.

Brother a new road is being layed in the locality where I live.The whole area is messed up with stones,mud,garbage or anything that comes in the way.So, just to take care about my beloved car and suspension, I used to do this practice.But now I will avoid it.

good to see that you want to change your bad habbit instead of arguing even when you are at fault as mostly people do

Today I went to my mechanic.He told me that the problem was with the clutch plate and pressure plate.The bearing was also making some noise.
I replaced all the three things.

The cost of Clutch Plate Set(Exedy) was Rs.4500.
The cost of Bearing was Rs.1200.

Now, the car is again working very smooth Masha'Allah.
The clutch is now very soft.

I also figured out what happened with my previous clutch plates.
Actually, there is a seal on the Gear Box which wasn't there when I washed my engine bay.The water went into the GearBox, resulting in the Clutch Plates to malfunction.

So, it is an advice that before washing your engine bay.
Please check if the seal on the gear box is intact.
If it isn't please buy a seal for the gearbox, and then wash your engine bay.

which mechanic did u get it changed from, and how much did he charge ?

Brother I am in Lahore.
I have shifted from Karachi last year that's why the car is Sindh Registered.

The clutch plate set is complete with pressure plate.
The brand name is Exedy.If you too want to get your Clutch Plate Set replaced,only buy the Exedy brand as it is OEM and it comes factory fitted in Alto.So, it is good to use OEM Parts.

Check your bearing if it needs replacement, also get it replaced.The brand name is KOYO.
The labour cost was Rs1200.And, believe me the clutch is now really really soft.
I can't believe I am driving the same car.

Total including the labour costed me Rs6500 but it is worth it!
Really loving the drive now

salam again, i alreay told you that the problem is same as you have done work today. but i think you spent too much money. i changed my clutch plates and pressure plate and barring, i did this because of some noise coming from gear box when start moving the car. my car was cultus 03.

I went to a kharadia he give me new clutch plates and a pressure plate of kabli one and set its pressure and adjustments, i gave him 1400 only ( for both clutch plates and pressure plates ), he take the old one. and barring cost me 450. and still did not pay to makainak because he is my friend, may be i will give him 400 to 500 for this job. So this was all expense and car is now working very fine.

Sir, when stuck in traffic jam or while you are passing the car from the bump, you have to press the clutch half.That what I was talking about.

But the main problem was that the water drained into the gearbox and the clutch plates gave up.

No, he did not make me fool.
Regarding the price, yaar I was in emergency because my car was standing in the garage for two days.If my car was in running condition,I would have gone to Bilal Gunj.Ther is a friend of mine in Bilal Gunj.

You can see the engine bay of Alto.There is a rubber type seal on the gearbox just above the clutch plates..When I washed my car, there was no seal on it and the water ran into the gearbox.
