Engine Check Light On Some Times

Hi there, Engine check-light turns on sometimes for a day and then it goes off for several weeks. What I am experiencing are two cases:
1. When the check-light turns on while driving and I press the gas pedal, car does not get enough race as it gets normally.
2. Also, two times I experienced that when I press the gas pedal, nothing happens (no race at all) and in this case, I turn off the car, turn it on again and car gets the race.

Could this be due to malfunction O2(Oxygen) sensor or throttle body sensor?

get it scanned, seems the cat con / O2 sensor are malfunctioning., need cleaning

What car is it? Normally, if the error is not observed in 3 engine warmups, the check engine light will go off, at least that's how it is in Toyota. The codes are still stored in the ECU. You should get it scanned and find out the error code and if there is any freeze frame data. That will pretty much pinpoint to the root cause.

ECU is taking the car in limp mode and hence no acceleration.

Get it scanned and work on error codes

This is the code for Throttle sensor or something like that as I don’t know the exact term, but I’m 100% sure it’s located on the throttle body.

Yup. Its TPS (Throttle Position Sensor)

remove multiple floor mats from the driver side. start the car for 10 minutes shut down & remove battery negative for 10 minutes. reconnect, check through scanner again

Use a catalytic converter cleaner first. You may get rid of the check light for as cheap as 1k. Proficar cat converter cleaner

P2122 is code for faulty Throttle position sensor. Try removing Tps harness connector located at the throttle body on the right side of butterfly and then re insert it , some times weak connection can cause this problem also carefully check the harness for any broken or burnt wire. In my case i was lucky i removed and re inserted the connector and it was back to normal.
