I Have Toyota Gli 2015. Recently bought with mileage shown 150k+.I noticed engine is consuming oil and changed the oil at 151k mileage with 10w-40 grade. But after only 1000 km engine oil level show 1litre less or 1/4 is less in dip stick. After that mechanic check and say everything is ok, he think oil is fake and then change it to Zic and increase to 20w-50. Now after 50km drive, oil is again on same level 1/4.Yeh sirf engine thanday honay pr 1/4 dikhata hai aur jb chalta hai tu bilkul sai show krta hai level.
Off course hot and cold level will always be different.Why you shift to 20w50?How much oil do you add?Check the oil when cold at levelled surface.
Engine oil should be checked first thing in the morning.Get a compression test done for Knowing engine,s health.Also get pcv valve checked
The level on dipstick from top to bottom is 1 litre only. How are you deducing that 1 litre is 1/4 of the stick?

if oil shows buttom low it means only 1 litre is consumed?
If oil shows at very bottom of stick, only 1 liter is short, if its dry, more than 1 litre is short.
The stick never has an empty mark just L and F mark.
Automatic transmission dipstick are not 1 liter mark, but half liter or more close to a pint.
Mechanic suggest me to do that because of 150k mileage.First i use KorEnergy 10w-40 and now Zic 20w-50
Engine is reducing 1 Litre after measuring drainage while oil changing. And 1/4 i mean to say top to bottom 1/4 of dip stick.
I visited multiple vendor and approx everyone says to go for Zic and my mechanic also suggest me to shift in Zic. Which one you suggest ?
Switch back to 10w40 or 5w30 (that's actually recommended). Try kixx.Do a compression test. And check the pcv valve.These engines have a habit of reducing oil.

How much oil you are filling? This engine requires 3.7 litres with filter change whereas many people fill only 3.5.

Yeah sure brother. i will assure, what is your suggestion which engine oil i have to user and which grade.
use any API SN SP 5w30 and fill correct volume (check dipstick at this time), check the level while car is parked on flat surface - meaning not on ramps, and not on a slope or tilt or jack etc etc.. Then recheck at 500 kms and then again at 1000 kms.
this way you will know if your engine is using oil.
