Engine Number Changing query!

I would like to know what is the procedure if we take the engine from one car on the road and swap the engine into another.

Obviously we wont have the engine receipt since the engine is out of another car. To what I know is that we need a copy out of the book page of the original car which has the engine number. Another person told me said photocopy needs to be attested.

Proper guidance on this would be much appreciated.

if both cars are already yours you will have purchase receipts, if someone gifted you an engine then get a reciept for previous owner, if you happen to buy the engine then get a receipt for it

How do I get a receipt from the previous owner ? As in what kind of receipt ? Hand written, signed with an NIC copy or what ?

I bought the engine from a friend who still owns the car it originally came in.

hand written or typed donest matter,, engine serial no. date, some price should be mentioned, pricise details you ask your local registration office what do they require for id. i assume yr asking because you want to update yr car reg book with new engine details.

again, a receipt is needed from seller. normally they give you a reciept if you ask for it, if they dont then dont buy it, go look somewhere else.

Yes thats the intended purpose, to transfer engine onto my reg book. Or atleast have some documented proof of owning the engine in the car. Last time had a receipt from workshop previous car was bought with a changed engine and receipt

@Ahsan...In Simple Words....2k Ke Kahani Ha .....!! reciept You can make your own if you speak truth......!! find someone who works as agent or got contacts in Civic Centre And Its Done.....!! just make sure the old owner changes his engine no also else it would be a conflict in database of CPLC having 2 cars with same engine nos...

I just want to atleast keep the proper receipt, or copy of that cars book, just for the sake of khabi checking ka masla.
