Well... I am not an expert in these matters, however, I think, if the oil is overfilled, then you need to place your ride on a jack and lift it, slightly open the drain bolt in the engine oil chamber and drain the overfilled oil, and tighten it when the level is Ok.
I am not sure about Suzuki or Honda engines, however, in case of Toyota, the exact, precise and best method to check engine oil level on dipstick is; when engine is hot. Start the engine and warm it for a couple of minutes. Then turn off the engine and let it cool down for a min. Of 5 minutes. After 5 minutes or so, you can check engine oil level on dipstick. However, it must be ensured in all the cases that surface is perfectly horizontal.
