Engine Oil Consumption in Vitz

aoa. I have Vitz 2010 Model.when i changed engine oil last time, it was consuming 700ml+. I was using total Quartz(5W-30). Now please guide me that which grade of oil i should use?

I read about ZIC 15W-40. I says that its seal conditioners which help prevent engine leaks and reduce oil consumption. is it recommended ?

Floor the gas pedal on idle and see if blue smoke comes out from the silencer. If yes then your engine is in weak condition.

Put in 20w50 oil (any company).
If it still eats oil, then this means engine is weak. You need to re-build it or swap with a kaabli one.

First try 10w-40 oil.

Dont go for thicker oil you will just worsen the problem oil consumption is known issue with toyota 1kr 2nzfe and 1zzfe and toyota admited there piston design had flaws just use some fully synthetic oil to keep oil galleries sludge free

I bought toyota altis 1.6 auto brand new in 2015. From day1 i've been using 20w50 oil (as recommended by toyota). In 3 years so far nothind happened to my engine. Em getting fuel economy as 10.5km/l in city and 13.5 on motorway from day1 till to date. So dont worry about not using thick oils. Use it in ur engine and if oil consumption decreases or ceases, you'll save cost of engine re building.

For vitz? This oil is good but semi synthetic (as far as I recall) you can yelid better results with fully synthetic oils

my car model is 2008. So will it work?
owner manual says 5w30.
