Engine oil & diesel mixture

Guys, can anyone shed light & share experiences if any on the subject. What benefits does it have ? I have seen drivers upnorth mixing engine oil in their diesel jeeps (balakot & beyond). How does it do in high speed standard non-efi/turbo diesel engines.

I did that once, ended up stalling at 80 kmph on the highway, nozzles clogged, fuel filter choked and the fuel pump plungers went pooff!..... but thats only me..:P;)

Damn, how long afterwards the mixing did this happen ? How much did you mix ?

I had an accidental spill of a little (less than 100ml) in my generator.

I mixed 2 litres of oil in 80 litres, and after burning around 60. Poof!

Though original idea is to pour oil directly into the suction chamer/intake manifold, so when the oil enters the cylinder it burns, leaving carbon residue which in turn sticks to the pistons and stops blowby and increases compression resulting in effective combustion. Effective to temporarily lengthen engine life, its done when the engine is running. I do that seasonally because i don't want to spend another 70k on another rebuild, for which the engine is showing signs evidently.

What capacity is fuel tank capacity of your generator?

Sherwan has explained the purpose of "engine ko tail khilwana" but what now I am going to tell you is another strange formula by the Hiace drivers which ply between Rawalpindi and Gilgit Baltistan(Northern Areas). They mix a Small quantity of PETROL in the DIESEL on regular basis for better performance uphill. Please anyone tell me what are the pros and cons for that? I have noticed they always have better combustion as compared to our vehicles(looking at their tail pipes going uphill)

All that is done out of sheer ignorance but they end up improving the CETANE rating of poor quality Pakistani diesel available in those areas.....hence get more horses out of their stock motors. It is also recommended even by some manufacturers to improve cold starts in hilly/colder areas!!! About the 'oil khiwana'....am afraid I know nothing of the matter....but hey.... don't most old diesels become 'OIL BURNERS' automatically???

Bro U gotta mix a liter in a full tank of good quaality branded oil in Diesel. The clogging must have happened due to an already choked filter and dirty injectors. I have tried it several times in my Townace 2C engine and works well. cleans everything. It is not recommended too often though.

I don't want to test this out on my diesel powered vehicle, I was curious to know what would happen to my worn out generator engine if I put a bit of it in with the diesel. The tank is 30 liters.

Sam,

100ml, is about 0.3% of oil mixed in 30 litre tank, that should not cause a problem, but if you ask me personally, i'd rather pull the fuel lines and check the diesel for viscosity.

Proverbial Slang,

The fuel filter was brand new, injectors cleaned and the pump recalibrated. The reason was the diesel became viscose and cause the pump to handle more pressure, and the viscose deisel did not go through the nozzles, but as i said it was only me. The fuel filter had oil sitting at the bottom.

heard about petrol chuski to deisel engine to start a dead one... but also heard that it is only recommended for dead or dying engine only... like the work chuski

Back in 1992, I was in college in Sadiqabad and I saw the local Hiace vans giving chuski to their vans on local route. Yes! it made a lot of difference to performance, but what I heard from those drivers was that the engine goes down quicker that way.

Guys, I am sure a diesel engine is a diesel engine for a reason, and I would be mighty shit scared to try the petrol thingy. I have seen lots of people put engine oil in petrol cars for better CNG performance? But i would be scared to do that too.

DeeDee/Bashartu , lets try nitrous in the mogs? But will definitely need roll cages then!

2.0 ltr engine in 80 ltr desiel is too heavy ratio. must have tried a qtr or max half ltr of engine oil with 80ltr. i have done once in my mog and was ok with everything. this is to lubricate the nozzles. this is what i heard.

people do this mixing due to poor quality desiel available in nothern side also with water mixing and you can imagine the water effect on nozzles. i am talking of my own experience...

Has anyone tried LPG fumigation in diesel engine? The people who have tried it say it does wonders.
