Engine oil dilemma regarding ED-10 engine in my Cuore after a swap

Okay so I got my car engine swapped as the previous one was shot and clocked over 235+K km. Got the engine sourced from Bilal gunj which was a low mileage one and added 10w-30 kixx API SN engine oil in it as specified in the owners manual. No issues till the second oil change which was a 10w-30 API SN havoline engine oil. The car burned oil just after 2k km and dropped to low level with A/C on full time in these 40 degrees heat after highway driving at an average of 120km/h. Which was weird, it wasn’t burning any before. So my mechanic without my consent added 20w-50 API SN korean engine oil, which is monstrous in viscosity saying that the engine that I have has been driven quite a lot before my ownership; which he might be right about. I am thinking of changing back to kixx 10w-30 API SN or to another Korean equivalent after 2k km. What do you guys reckon? The engine is soundless though and the car accelerates above 120km/h easily, Alhamdulillah.

visit a workshop which can perform compression test for the engine.
ED 10 engine is of PKDM coure. if you can check for the thermostat valve in cooling system and cooling fans running on automatic. i think heating problem will be half resolved after restore to stock setup.

as for engine oil 20W-50 is concern ED 10 is old tech carb engine and the user manual indicate 10W-40 engine oil. so for a while 20W-50 is ok.

Imported oil brands are serious challenge, always use engine oil from local brand like PSO Shell Total Havoline etc. Buy only from trusted shop also before next oil change compression test will be great help. 10W-40 PSO or Total will be better option.

I’ll get the compression checked but there is no heat up issue though, using the nasa 50/50 premix coolant since the install of the engine. Just the oil reduction doesn’t seem right and it was havoline engine oil that caused the oil burning issue; not the Korean one…

without compression test reading dry & wet it is almost impossible to ascertain oil consumption reasons. look at any oil drops at parking space just incase any leakage is from sump or any seals invisible to naked eye.

Another point is now a days there has been lots of fake and refilled oil cans being sold in the market.
i have experienced the same issue in my car in one oil change. when it happened i took out all of the remaining and filled new pack. since then never happened so maybe oil can be a culprit too if compression tests are ok.

sir @nnabeel i make sure when the oil bottle is empty a hole is punched on side wall before disposal. it makes it useless for fake oil sellers who buy empty clean bottles from trash collectors.
