Engine oil for Corolla GLi 1.3 2013

Hi experts and users,
I have GLi 1.3 170k driven on ODO. I purchased it from someone who was using 20w50 havoline. Last time when I visited person at Havoline agency told me that 20w50 is not recommended for this car.

Can experts guide me on this?

Recommended grade is 5w30.But since he used 20w50 for a long period.Use 10w40 for next oil change

5 to 6000kms.I am personally using shell Hx5 10w40.Price is rupees 2680 for 4 litres pack

Use 10w40 interval 5000km if reduces then 20w50
