I do all work my self and adjusted tappets to manf spec with feeler gauge unlike ustads who do it by andaza
inlet valve is 5mm and exhaust is 6

Does light fluctuate on generator. And are you running your generator on petrol or gas.

It does for some time but once engine gets hot then its 228v stable with fridge on
And im running it on gas but take care of it never over load it or keep on running more thrn 4hrs

I also have loncin 3500D-A its voltage output is between 209-211.

The genset is consuming oil, as it need maintenance. The open oils are base oil only and donot contain any additives (chemicals), so give no protection to engine except viscosity is maintained, so continue using branded oils. You may take it from same co pump from drums, which is cheaper than pack product.

user of loncin 3500da since past two years, i use 4t motorcycle oil(caltex or pso) and change it only twice a season(thrice a year). genny hasn't starting consuming oil yet, was opened once for head job but working perfectly since then(although mechanic put one spring on the wrong lever but still it runs fine). the only thing i dont like about it is that if u fill the oil above the half mark on dipstick then valve case spits oil on airfilter and genny runs heavy untill airfilter is cleaned.

If you use it on petrol, it won't burn oil then.

Mine is brand new used less than 12 hours in 1 year. Its used as backup for ups, like when loadsheding exceeds 5 hrs continuously. Does AVR have any settings? I had seen 1 avr in a video in youtube it didnt have any seetings.

Once I was told by a mechanic that one needed to get his generator's AVR set for desired output. I've never experienced it in person.

I think you mean 0.005 inch for inlet and 0.006 inch for exhaust

Gear oil? Sound might have reduced because gear oil is very viscous.

AoA PWers! Hope this post finds you in best of your state.
The query is regarding engine oil for our 2.8 KV generator, which has a weak working engine. It consumes almost a liter of oil in 100 hours of running.
I wanted to ask if we can use local oil in it? I'm talking about the oil which is locally refined in markets, not the packed ones. If not what are the harmful effects?

P. S. We have been using Havoline 20w50 in it since we bought it, and we've been running it on gas.

If you can stick to havoline and your generators requirement is 20W50 then keep using it. Please remember to ALWAYS change the air and oil filter regularly otherwise (like every engine) there will be contamination and abrasion.

Yes it is very thick....... will replace after a week...but there is no problem with generator its running good

Gear Oil contain extreme pressure additives, while in Engine detergent, dispersant additive package is used, which take care of soot and other particulate produced in engine. The requirement in gear is totally different.
