Since buying this car, I was using Caltex Havoline Formula SAE 10W30 engine oil. Last month, my car's odometer crossed 100,000 kilometers and I have been thinking of using a different variant of Caltex Havoline. Please suggest what variant of Caltex Havoline should I use for a better engine output? Should I use the switch to 20W50 or 10W40?
Keep using what you are using if the avg is good and there is no oil reduction... Although you should have been using 5w30 for it (mentioned on a sticker under the bonnet)
Avoid 20w50 at all costs... Ghuttan se mar jaye ga ye chota 660 engine with it.
Is the engine giving any problem? like oil consumption, smoke from the exhaust, etc.?
If not, then kindly continue using it. Its one of the best oils there in its league, and value to money.
May be sincerely avoided.
Isn't Fully synthetic 0w20 oil grade is recommended for these 660 cc engines?
Agreed!
But here, in this particular case, if the member will switch to 0w-20, I fear oil consumption issue may start, along with smoke from the exhaust.
So to avoid it, it would be best if he continues using the grade which he is currently using.
