Engine oil for suzuki alto 660cc japense 68000km driven

I have suzuki alto 660cc japense 68000km driven. I saw some videos on youtube and now i am totally confused about which engine oil should i use.
Currently i am using toyota genuine engine oil 10w-30. But i have seen that car knocks sometime with AC on when it is on rest with D gear.
So i wanted to know which oil should i switch to? I saw japense alto manual and they are saying 0w-20 is best. So considering it is driven 68000km with 10w-30 so shall i switch to 5w-30 or 0w-20? And which company do u recommend as i have seen toyota does not have 5w-30 available?

IMO, engine oil, its grade, etc. has got nothing to do with engine knocking.

If you are comfortable with the oil grade, not facing engine heaviness, disturbed fuel efficiency, etc., then you may continue using it. Just ensure that 10w-30 is from Caltex / Havoline only!

IMO, you may switch to 5w-30, and in this grade, Total Quartz 9000 Future series 5w-30 or Kixx 5w-30 are great!

ZIC A+ 5w-20 and Shell 5w-20 are another great, value to money options.

Just don't fall prey to fancy, imported, expensive engine oils.

Thank you for the detailed reply with 10w-30 my car is working fine. But i feel sometime engine gets loaded and i believe with 5w-30 the performance may get slightly better. I have seen Suzuki has also SGO oils. Are they good?

In that case, look for Total Quartz 9000 Future series 5w-30 or Kixx 5w-30.

No idea about them, as I haven't used them.

Still, I am of the opinion that Total and Kixx are better than SGO.

YES. It is a good brand, but IMO, it is not value to money, and is expensive.

IMO, you should choose from "market k brands" like Caltex, Havoline, Shell, Total, Kixx, ZIC, etc., just ensure that the oil which you are buying is 100% authentic and original.

Actually thats the reason to go towards liqui moly. Market brands has lots of hassels in identifying its authenticity that is why want to opt for a brand which is risk free. Alhamdulillah budget is not an issue. Also i have heard that liqui moly oil changing value is around 8000kms. So its value for money. Also its imported so it is expensive. Fair enough isn't it?

I would disagree to it, as the engine oil company may give any period for the drain interval, however, they also write at the back side of their bottle(s), to always follow owners / users manual, and OEM's recommendations for the drain interval; and in manuals for most of the local cars, it is written to change oil after ~5,000 Kms.

According to oil companies:

"... Ja'agday raina, sa'aday tey na raina... "

So, not value to money IMO.

I fear, no brand here is risk free, you only need to buy from the authorised dealer / distributor.

There are many reputed shops / places to buy lubes from, in all the major cities. Metro is another great place to buy engine oils.

Almost all the websites have the lists of their authorised dealers / distributors to buy their prodicts. You just need to visit the websites for getting reqd. details.

If you do not find any details, contact on their given Nos. and get the reqd. info.

NOPE.

I can give many exapmles of imported engine oils, but they are not expensive, e.g. Total Quartz 9000 Future Series 0w-20 and 5w-30 (these are fully imported), then ZIC A+ 5w-20 (it is made in Korea, and this is written on the box as well, and is imported), etc.

But their prices are quite reasonable when compared to Liqui Moly.

Thanks. Last question as far as i have read about grades of engine oils i have come to this point:
If i talk about the temp of islamabad usually during summer time there is a temp in between 30 to 43 Celsius. So it doesn't matter if we install 5w-30 or 10w-30 since both have the same viscosity at higher temp. The only difference between these two is only on cold temp or winter season u can say.
Is it correct?

Sir kindly follow the owner`s manual that came with the car. If it says 0w20 then dont listen to any mechanic or guru and also dont even think that our region has high temperature etc, the manufacturer knows best about the engine and has designed it for a certain oil viscosity for optimum performance

YES. You are right, and it seems correct, however, these used to matter in the past, but not that much now.

IMO, you should follow your car's owners / users manual, and in the manual, if it has been mentioned to use 5w-30, then it should be the 1st choice, irrespective you are driving your vehicle in Sakardu, or Sibbi.

Design of oil pump, engine galleries, and other factors, etc. dictate which engine oil grade / viscosity is going to be used in that vehicle.

660 cc has a tiny oil sump. you cannot run it for 8000km
