Yes. You are absolutely right. My comment was in general, and not in particular reference to 2NZ-FE.

For 2NZ-FE, 5w-20, 5w-30, and at max. 10w-30, are the recommended engine oil grades by the OEM. One can choose between these, depending on engine health and odo reading.

O bhai use karo. Everybody tries to defend the oil they use.
You guys have no idea what's the r&d cost behind oil. When you will know about it you will answer your question.
I'm not asking anybody to use amsoil. Follow drain intervals recommended by manufacturer if you're using cheaper oils.

I was just curious about the early oil change of these oils.
Also I know about the R&D and the $$$ spend on these but you have some knowledge and experience of using various of them in your vehicle so just wanted a causal discussion.

I don't know why everybody at pakwheels think that i'm offended. Do I just write everything like that or something I guess? It's a casual discussion. I'm not offended by anybody here. Some are learning and some have tons of experience then me. Most of them starts bashing due to their ego. Well, I have no concern it's just a public forum where we learn from each other.
I have used many oils in one car. I have used total but changing it at 5-6k kms is the best option. It's a value for money and a pretty good oil. Dual vvti 2zrfe is notorious in making grinding noise at cold startups like grrrrr. Well that noise was vanished when I used liqui moly, mobil 1, and total. Noise was there at hot or mild startups on liqui moly and mobil 1, but there was no noise on total. After 5000kms it started giving sound at cold startups. Engine noise also increased because my car is corolla 1.8 cvti and runs mostly at 1-2k rpms so I'm able to notice it more then others.
In case of amsoil 5w30 signature series I can barely hear engine at 1-2k rpm and there are zero noises at any startup that can dissatisfy me. Still I have to test it for a pretty great amount of time period.

Just to add on in discussion.Using Mobil1 5w-50 for the last 30k kms in Gli 2010. Interval is 10k km. Surely its a treat for my engine. As far as Total is concerned, its par with other local brands. In terms of saving few bucks for Good, i have very good expeeience with Kixx 5-40 n 5w50 Sn plus. Its very good Oil. I used it on Cultus 2011 driven through out on 20w50. Drain interval 5k.
Amsoil is up above oil. On other car Altis 1.6, we are using Amsoil sign 5w30. Experience is under way. Will update soon.

You have commited a sin as you shared it here. Patlay oil wali awaam will start bashing you over this in few hours.
It's one of the best oil I ever used.
People told me that come back to 5w30 as its recommendation, but fuel economy of my 2016 altis 1.8cvt remained the same on 5w50 and 5w30. Just a 0.5km/l difference maximum.

Mobil 1 dealers bhi zada recomend nahe kerte. Wo Lmoly ko boht chuk ker rakhtay hain. Lekin Mobil 1 waqai aik behtreen cheez hai. Amsoil best hai lekin her jagga available nahe hai.

with full synth - I have seen that the oil doesnt stick too well to surfaces and drips off overnight, causing worse rattly start. The oil capacity is pretty piss poor too on them so I think its better to use a cheapo dino juice and change earlier. E.g. my car gets an 8000 kms oil change on cheapo stuff with needing to add a litre after 5000 kms.

I can use a stout full synth oil and go to 10,000 kms - but my cost doubles for just an additional 2000 kms (not economical) - I dont think it makes sense where I live. If I were living in the frigid tundra like somewhere in Alberta Canada - I would no doubt use a full synthetic oil as without it the engine would refuse to start.

The newer toyota engines with 0W16 engine oil have larger sumps and a higher volume and variable oil pump. They are not in the above category.
