Engine OIL light blinking - PLS help

AOA, guys the engine line of my car starts blinking after driving 15 to 20 mins. During drive when the race is idle the light blinks continuously and when accelerator is pushed it disappears. I have recently changed the oil as I thought it might be the problem but the problem is still there. I have also checked wiring as well as used both genuine and local oil switches but the result is same. The car doesn't smoke nor does reduces oil and the engine is relatively in good good conditions. There is no reduction in radiator water and the engine remains normal after hours of driving. CAN any expert guide....... Xulfiqar bhai. The car is honda civic

It is an indication of low oil pressure, possibly caused by one or more of the following:

• Clogged oil filter or pickup strainer.
• Worn oil pump gears.
• Worn bearings - main bearings and crankshaft journals in particular.

So how will I get it checked. does my mechanic need to take out the engine or what?

You need to do an oil pressure test immediately to verify if this actually a loss of oil pressure or it is a malfunctioning oil pressure switch or bad wiring.

Does the engine sound like its out of oil?

& top up engine oil, share results again Please !

sir, I have checked the oil switches I have used both kabuli and the local universal one available one. both have the same results. surprisingly the engine doesn't feel like its out of oil infact the temperature stays normal

You need to do an oil pressure test immediately to verify if this actually a loss of oil pressure or it is a malfunctioning oil pressure switch or bad wiring.

yes done all that but the result still same. new oil + oil filter .....light starts blinking after 10-15 mins drive and blink when race is idle and stops blinking when accelerator pedal is pressed.

check your oil pump, seems to me that it isn't functioning properly

Don't worry,if light goes away on acceleration and there is no abnormal sound.

do an oil pressure test, if the oil pressure is dropping below 10 psi at idle speed with a 10W40 oil then your engine requires tear down and repair.

It may just be a blocked/clogged filter or even pickup screen.

In any case, dont drive this car unless you have verified with a mechanical pressure gauge that the oil pump is working. Ustaad angootha on paep test wont work here

from where can I get the oil pressure checked. Any suitable location in Karachi as most mechanics don't have the instrument to check it.

maybe also because of sludge build up, oil pressure testing, filter change, engine oil flush may solve the issue.

Facing same issue in my alto vxr ... how you resolved it?

My cars crank shaft had problems due to which it was blinking so i replaced it. Get it checked from a good mechanic.
