Engine Oil Light Problem

This problem started recently with my Pajero. After driving the car continuously for 15-20 minutes, when the engine rpm goes to 700(idle) the engine oil light comes on. It goes away whenever the accelerator is pressed but comes back on on idle. My electrician says the wire might be short somewhere, but I think something might be wrong with the oil pump. What do you people think?

Check thoroughly for wiring first. BTW, how much is the mileage on the car?

Do you think it could be the wiring? The light only comes on after the car is driven for a few minutes....

I say 1st off check oil level after engine has been shut for at least 10 minutes and then check for other faults. Coz during acceleration pressure is created and during idle there is low pressure hence the light on and off situation.

If the car has oil in it. Its a sure sign that the oil pump is weak and should be replaced.

Hello!
Same Problem With My SPrinter's Old 2E engine
But i can listen rough idle when i start car in morning......means oil pump is not working properly....after revving engine above 1500....it start working and sound suddenly change... and on idle....oil light blink....!
Check Oil Level as suggested by Racerf1 and also listen to any strange noise outta engine when you start car in morning...!
Might be bad oil switch or wiring problem....!

I forgot this post.
The problem was the oil pump's switch. Got it replaced and now everything s fine.

I have same 2E engine in my Corolla xe can u plz tell me what should i do .the oil light remain on for lil time and after that it begin flickering but at 1500 Rpm it goes off and no flickering issue

Oil Pump Issue...Get It Checked ...Cleane the pickup strainer Or Replace Oil Pump

Make Sure Oil Switch Is Good And Not Bad Too
