Engine Oil Reducing

Hope you'll be fine , i have Toyota Vitz 2008 Original 1.3 2020 Registered , i have only one problem with it , Iam using Caltex Havoline 10W-30W in it and changing on 3000km's . Month ago i noticed my engine oil decreases like 200ml or 250ml and i put it more 250ml in it, rest the engine is in a very good cond , also fuel consumption is excellent and powerful pick ,
So should i change the formula for it like summers are on its way , 20w-50w will be good?? Or not.

0w20 is the ideal oil.

But you can also use 5w30. 10w30 is a bit thicker but not too thick. It will also work ok. Make sure it is fully synthetic.

These oils are used throughout the year, all seasons, hot or cold. Never put 20w50 in any modern toyota engine made after 2000 where fully synthetic is used.

Change oil after 6000km if it is fully synthetic. 3000km is too early.

Little oil reduction is fine.

Looks like there are some engine issues. Get everything checked. Might need an overhaul.

No need to overhaul on just little oil reduction.

Don't give suggestions like our local mechanics do where they get to earn huge on overhaul or engine change on minor issues.

Yes, fully synthetic can last that long.
Under our dusty stop n go traffic though 7 to 8,000 km is enough.

You definitely need oem oil filter change at that. May as well change oil at 8000.

I'm just saying there could be an issue, if it's annoying him a lot then go for the overhaul. If there is only 250ml reduction every 3000km, which in my opinion is no cause for concern , then no worries.

The valve clearances on these engines are tiny as hell, better to use 5w30 in normal conditions. Since his oil is leaking I would advise to use a thicker grade, as the whole purpose of it is to stop the oil reduction, but it will impact fuel economy. So use 10w40 at the minimum. If it still doesn't stop, then switch to 20w50 though fuel consumption will be heavily impacted.

Brother dont do nothing stupid.Dont reinvent the wheel Id say.This is normal for such an old engine and no need to change the oil grade.period
No problem if no noises or clunk or rattles.

your car must be in very good condition and low mileage
that it started dropping oil level now
every 1.3 vitz owner i met has this issue
everyone tops up happily and keeps driving or uses slightly thicker blend with early drain
250ml is nothing. I am sure 250ml drop is not equal to middle of the 2 dots of the oil stick.
i wld say stick to the same oil and drain interval

Normal for this engine. Last time I checked with a mechanic he said engine k life 3 weeks rehgae ha. Its been 3 years now
Keep using the same grade. Changing grade might increase oil consumption.

Yeah Alhammadolillah Engine is in very good cond so will stick to 10w 30w

@ghulamrasul206 sir anytime in future if you face high fuel consumption smoke or high engine oil reduction 1st step shall be compression test. That is like taking pulse & bp of the patient for prognosis.

1SZ FE 1KR FE best engine oil is 5W-30 or 0W-20 in Pakistan.
200 - 800 ml oil reduction per 5000 kms is considered normal.

It is my brother's car and he is also using caltex 10w30.
