This is complete list of all synthetic oil options commonly available in Pak.
I Limited my analysis to API SM and above?. (Because that?s what modern cars use) and I have used Synthetic oils only.
Data from SHELL, ZIC ,Mobil, Havoline, Valvoline and Total is provided by their local company representatives, rest of them (AMOSIL & Liqui Moly) are imported oil, so their specs may vary from dealer depending on where the oil was imported from.
And No, A Shell 5w-30 sold in Pak won't be same spec as sold elsewhere. Oil properties have been modified for local climates accordingly. So local company's data specs are the actual ones being sold in Pak. Will wary from unofficial imported oil.
List is sorted from Thinnest to thickest viscosity.
HTHS viscosity = the lower the better fuel economy
Higher the flash point = Better protection under extremes, and also indicates high quality base oil
Haven't used pour point , Because it doesn't go below 0 Degree in Karachi. But lower the pour point better cold start protection
Total Base number = Higher the base, longer the oil performance interval. Which is why Mobil 1 is so popular for long drain intervals.
