Engine oil suggestion for Toyota Vitz 1L, 2010

Hiya fellows,

I have a Toyota Vitz, 2010-model, 1L, which has been driven around 67000km approximately. I'm looking to find a brand and type of engine oil that will be best for the car. After having read through various threads here about engine oils, I'm confused about which one I should go with. People here have suggested Shell, Caltex, Zic, Mobi, and others, which only adds to my confusion.

So, I wanted to ask simply: Is Zic 0W a good choice for the engine? Or should I go for Zic A+?

Also, if I use either of the Zic oils I mentioned, what should be an safe drain interval? After how many KMs should I change the oil?

Your precious advice will be highly appreciated.

5w-30 or 40 shell i suggest you can have 10k kms on this oil

zic is also fine,, and i think all the 5w's or 0w's are capable of doing 10k-12k city driving + lil street races

Thanks, @basimulhaque. So, I'll venture out and go with Zic 0W to see how it works out.

I used to own a Cuore before and took it to Toyota 3S for service every time. They always told me that that synthetic oils they used would go stale after three months or 5000km. The first service on Vitz after purchasing it was performed on behalf of the guy who I bought it from (they have an oil/service shop where they send all their imported JDMs for servicing). He told me to change the oil after 3000km. I'm wondering whether the 10 to 12k is a realistic measure.

my personal recommendations goes to imported oils bought from the original dealers.

HIGH GRADE OILS

Liqui Moly 0/40
first time change it after 5k, but next time 10k for sure. But change filters after 5k.

zic xq
its high grade oil but just give it a try if its suits your car well.
first time change it after 5k, but next time 8k for sure. But change filters after 4k.

PTT Performa 0/40, super synthetic
first time change it after 5k, but next time 8k for sure. But change filters after 4k.

Brother its 5W30 in black tin pack (not the Petron one) and works for 6-8K KM easily depending on your driving temperature, style and engine condition.

These oils will blast past the engine seals in no time and often also fails the clutch plate.

Even 0 meter cars do not withstand these oils after 2-3 years and engine noise increases considerably due to metal friction as its very thin oil.

if the gentleman has pak car, then perhaps my recommendations were different. But he has jdm and this oil would be most suitable for the engine.

As far as the temperature is concern, the gassoline engine's operative temperature is usually upto 250 degrees C. Hence out temperature as 40C doesnt matter alot.

in my post i mentioned zic ow is a good oil i did not mention the mileage.

anyway, for zic ow, first time change it after 3.5k
and next time after 5k.

the 0 is the cold flow viscosity. the higher number is the hot viscosity and thats what matters the most. your statementvwould be correct if you were using a monograde 0 oil.

example mercedes benz bmw vw and a ton of other engines recommend 0 w40 all year round in every climate no matter the desert or siberia.

really thin oils are used in modern toyota honda mazda ford suzuki etc their viscosities are recommended as 0w20 usually

your comment of clutch becoming worn is also confusing what does oil have to do with clutches unless its a motorcycle. btw if you look up the tds of oils you will see for yourself the viscosities, flash point, viscosity index etc. etc

xulfiqar bhai all i am saying that we do not have any of the modern engines of mercedes bmw or even ford VW etc.

Alto, curoe cultus 2nzfe corolla are the modern engines here and R18A1 of civic is the ferrari here.

Both the thailand user manual of civic and JDM vitz have written 5W30 engine oil all year around.

Sorry for the language problem but I want to say that all hondas like civic accord main engine seals leaks due to use of thin oil or worn seals or excess oil between the joint where gearbox and engine are connected from the main engine seal.

The same problem happens when people use incorrect grading / viscosity gear oil especially in hondas some aftermarket gear oils of 75W90 or other grading.

Somepeople even use GL5 grading gear oils in their cars thats used in transaxles.

The second thing is what is the difference between a rs. 5000 0W40 liquimoly or amsoil oil if put in cuore cultus or even corolla / civic pair with a local guard filter since we do not have Mobil 1 Mann or fram filters available here. no engine oil will last after 1 one year anyhow.

0w40 will not improve the power or torque in a carby engine why not buy a simple mineral or semi synthetic oil for 1500 rs and change it on recommended intervals.

So we sould need to feed the more viscose oil. (Wordings are not same, but I remember very well your post).

oils are selected according to the tolerance specs of the engine. using a 0 viscosity oil in sahara is a waste of money as it never gets near the cold flow temp required. the higher number is the more important one for heat. while the lower one for cold

I have Vitz 2010. I've been using Havoline Formula for a year now. I want to shift to Havoline fully synthetic 5W-30. Is it safe to shift from mineral oil to fully synthetic oil? Total mileage of car is around 40K now. I've read some people saying the oil might leak etc.

After trying both 0w and A+ versions of Zic, I went with the 10w30 Toyota Japanese Tin can oil. I have been using it for the past two years now without any complaints. I enjoy the drive of the car.
