Engine oil to use after 50k Millage for Honda City 1.3 Manual

Hi folks,

I hope you'll be doing good. I was wondering these which engine oil category should I should for my Honda city. Car is driven around 55k and currently I have used 5W. But some of my friends and merchants told me to use 10w but they failed to explain the logic behind this except 10w is more ticker than 5w. I mean why more thicker oil is required after 50k millage. Can anyone explain it?

This is just a rumor by our mechanic (ustad's), Just keep using the same oil you're already using.

continue using 5w30 till life of the engine,no issues. be it 3lakh or whatever.If you follow ur friends and merchants logic, one should be using grease after 150,000kms and solid graphite after 200,000kms.

If your car's engine is working absolutely fine on 5w-30 and you are not observing any issues, like oil consumption in particular, I would sincerely suggest continue using it.

At max., Just change brand, like Shell, Total, Kixx, Caltex / Havoline, etc. But grade should be same i.e. 5w-30.

Prefer fully synthetic. Ensure oil is % authentic. Change oil + oil filter after every 5,000 Kms, and you'll be good to go.

I used honda 5w30 oil till 150k n then sold city..didn't have any issue.

Stick to 5w-30.. recommended grade even after 150k kms....this engine is made to last well over 300k kms...go on
