Engine swap 2E-L to 5A-FE finally done!

hi all
i finally did the swap which i was planning for some time.the whole thing took around one and a half day. here are some pictures. offer your comments.
and i would like to thank all those who helped me in making the choice. i am referring to a similar thread which i started.

i have a corolla 1987 registered with 2E-L 1300cc engine. no power steering.

i would thank levin, ghuncha, aridsoul, hash4u, SER_GTR, RedBull_ar, aliazeez and all for their valuable comments which helped me in making the choice.

for those of you who might be interested in the expenditure incurred..its as follows:-

complete engine 5A-FE 1500cc EFI and 6 speed transmission by giving 2E-L and 5 speed txmsn: Rs 27000 (including air cleaner assembly, compressor, power steering pump, labour charges, electrician charges, ecm, harnesses) only thing i was required to do is to fill petrol in the tank

Power steering gearbox, cross and pressure lines : Rs 2600
rank and pinion steering adjusted : RS -200
power steering installation labour charges: Rs 800
Radiator 86 corolla genuine : Rs 4800

Radiator was an additional expenditure since the old one was in a poor condition and was also "single jali".

the pick is awesome on petrol. have to get the CNG(also previously fitted) adjusted. your advice needed in this regard. help me guys.
i understand that 5AFE does not require the advancer due to distributor type ignition. emulator might be required but i've heard people driving EFI vehicles without emulators also. the CNG kit i have with me is landi renzo TN1 with manual CNG switch. what i want is to always start the engine on petrol. i went to two CNG walas today and both said that won't be possible with manual CNG kit.
well at the moment i can't afford auto CNG kit. plz advise me guys that how important emulator really is? does it switch off injectors or not? it does fool the ecm that injectors are working but is the supply to injectors is also cut.
will a simple relay cutting electric fuel pump off while on CNG be sufficient or is it necessary to switch off injectors. can injectors working dry (without fuel) damage themselves? in the absence of emulaor, will there be any harm to sensors and/or ecm?

we have EE90(corolla 1990) with 2E engine if we swap 4afe or 5afe what is the difference between these two engines...

and second engine change and engine no is change so what is the procedure about the changing the engine no on registration book ...from registration office.....

congrates awais. but that looks like 4AFE to me. wats the difference. i know that 4AFE is 1.6L and 5AFE 1.5L but in appearance both look the same.

Regarding your other questions, there is nothing like manual CNG kit, it is only the switch that distinguishes these two. You can install both advancer and emulator. The injectors and fuel pump should not operate in absence of petrol otherwise they will tend to heat-up and loose performance.

Congrats on a Nice Clean swap mate. We did such a swap a while ago on an 86 but installed an auto tranny. As far as I know, these JDM versions of the 1.5 5A are really strong and can often outrun the local version of the 4A!

Stick to your so called "Manual" CNG kit (without emulators and advancer). My automatic City 2001 previously had one and it worked fine.

It was pre-installed by the previous owner so I do not know from where. Search around and you will find a mechanic who will fit it. I guess "Cut-outs" and "Relays" were used to avoid Check Engine Light.

@tauseef: it DOES look like a 4A engine, but u'll be surprised at the different types of engine covers on both 4A and 5A series engines. If awais says its a 5A, it has to be a 5A cuz it would say 5A-FE on the ECU; and he must have looked at that.
its a gud idea to use a 5A engine for tax purpose. theres little difference between the performance of 4A and 5A.
