Engine swap for honda civic Ek

I'm looking to buy an EK and was looking for an engine with a little bit more power and better fuel average. Upon my research, I came across some people recommending me d17a. I want to know whether it would be a good swap for an ek(little to no alterations), how much would it cost and what else options do I have? Also what would be the fuel average?

D17A is a good option for EK as it provides a bit more power from stock as well as a good fuel average. Have no idea about price as they have increased alot over the past few months. Other options include alot of other Honda engines F series, H series, K series etc etc

K swapping it would definitely give me more power but I think the fuel consumption will also worsen, it is going to be my daily driven car. What do you think?

For k series you need mounts with brackets, axles, Eg subframe and control arms (depend upon the engine variant), need to bypass the immobiliser or standalone if you want to tune (that cost same as engine itself), then tuning separate.
Just swap D17a and have a peace of mind.

Cost will be a bit on the higher side. Somewhere around 300K.

I think that's too much and when you take into account the hassle that I'll have to go through, I don't think it'll be worth it for a daily driven car. I want a car that'll be reliable in terms of maintenance

Don't know about present price. But complete engine was about 130k few months back.
Swapping will not cost much. As it's a D series engine.

Check this thread. He recently swapped D17A in civic 95.

D17A New [image] D17A New [image] Old one getting taken out, you can see the leakage and all that. It needed complete overhauling, blowby caused a lot of seal leaks. [image] [image] Before the blowby issue back at the start of 2019 (How lovely it was ) [image] [image] After dropping in te new one with wiring done, you can see AC hoses out, didn't get time to fix it because of Covid lockdown, so I had to take my car back a day before the lockdown.
