Engine Swap Honda City 1997

AOA Pakwheelers,

I would like your comments and suggestion regarding an engine swap in my Honda City 1997. It doesn't have its original engine, it was swapped with D13B by the previous owner.

I want to go for a swap only reason for that is to rid myself of Carby engines and related problems. I have spent a lot of time and money and it is not worth to get this one repaired as it is consuming oil and giving white smoke constantly.

I would like a balanced engine with power, economy and reliability as must. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i think you can swap it by city 99 2000 model engine.

Swap D15B efi non vtec.

Is D15B Efi non Vtec easily available in the market and could you list some of the plus points please?

Its basically engine of Honda Civic 1996-2000 also came in Honda City Neo 1.5 1998-2000. It will give you good power to weight ratio. Good fuel economy too.

i will prefer d16y4 or d16y8. both engine will cost you about 80 to 85k. complete.

Thanks for the suggestion, could you tell me a little bit more about these engines in layman terms. Will they be easily available as i have heard clean honda engines are hard to find.

And by complete you mean uncut wiring and ecu?

One more thing experts, both the engines mentioned are they going to be bolt on or not. What extra accessories will be required to make the car secure and safe to drive. Thanks

they just call them d16 they don't know the complete name, you can read it, it's written on block
yes easily available, you have to search for a clean one.

mounts will be similar almost all d series have similar mounts.
