better to trust the kabariya baout engine selection so he honours his warranty as well. Engine can be purcahsed seperately but that way mechanic wont take full responsibility of the whole swap. It is always better to keep the guns on them (kabariya and mechanic)rather then on yourself. That works out to your advantage. I do not know of any other kabariya as we always asked the mechanic to arrange things for us with full trust and responsibility. Otherwise if something do not turn out correct they say, aap laye thaay engine. I hope u got my point.

What about running the AC through ECU in QG18? Can you also please shed some light on it ?

As far as I know, N16 ones got this point covered, but bilal got a circuit made to give false signal to ECU that AC is on or something of that sort, I do not know exactly. So how one will cover that aspect after the swap of turning on the AC ?

The unit comes with it's own AC compressor and uncut wiring. Still this issue would be faced?

For AC, ECU needs an input from dryer bottle and a pressure sensor. If u have that hardware in place it will work. otherwise direct working like most nissans have in hands of mechanics. The circuit u r talking about is needed to match the speedometer and rpm signals with input from gear as B13 and 14 meters are not compatible with QG signals. Check Nashits thread for details. I am not a bijli ustaad u know that

Got you. So this means, AC can be wired up correctly given we have sensors and dryer bottle from N16 from scrap market. Well, it is good to know then.

Do we also need to replace the condensor from N16 with QG ? Like I purchased on your advice? The multi-flow one ? And All the QGs u see swapped, used the same AC comprssor that came with it originally ?

doing all these research on these swaps, i have developed deep respect for Gandhara and Nissan engineers. they offered the 1.3 and 1.6 in N16 without any of the possibility of issues being faced like Catalytic ocnvertors, O2 sensors and alike knowing the level of competence of the mechanic fraternity, still these cars are ruined in their hands and ultimately labelled as flops. the 1.3 is hard coded ECU and does not have nakhras of any sort. The JDM ones are learning ECU's and require all correct inputs to finction properly. A reset by scanning tool is a must after the swap to make sure you are good to go. Nissan charges 1000 for a scan and will tell you if the ECU is acytually compatible, all signals are in line with requirements and optimized. Without a scan, it is all hunting in the dark.

AC Parts from a B15 or N15 are compatible as well and they are available in kabaar. They came with QG engines and rest of the stuff (AC etc.) was similiar to old ones from B14.

Thanks for this advice. My dad was saying this morning that you have to pay numerous visits to mechanic after swapping the engine. Now i know where to go in case of trouble in Nissan EFI.

Since you have already mentioned Nissan Rawalpindi will be hesitant scanning a QG18 in B13, are there any chances they can connect or they will connect and scan QG18 in B13 after the swap from pindi ? Can we visit them for final inspection after swap to look for any issues in ECU or ECU reset for instance ?

They are hesitant to do the swap themselves because people are not willing to pay for parts required to make everything work properly. Mindset is ke engine hee change karna hai naa. baqi kuch nahin. Also, they have a lot of other business with imported Nissans now so that is easier money then all the efforts and time spent on a swap. If u have a B13 or 14 properly swapped, they will be happy to work on it and will actually tell u a few things which u dont know. One of teh cutomers gt a swap done in 14 from them and that car just rocks. he spent around 85k. That was inspiring for me to go ahead with my N16. I am using QG13 wiring, NVCT an O2 are connected seperately. Thanks to ghuncha who is the real guru of these swaps. Got a scan done and everything was fine. The dealer was also surprised to see that someone has figured out the way to do it without spending extra on kabli wiring. They were actually threatened a bit

In B13 a QG18 will give you 12-14 in city and 14-17 on highway. N16 being heavier is giving me 11-13 in city and 14-15 on highway.

That plug is one of the parts u need to make a proper swap my friend if u do not have the plug, old school method of light blinking for error code also works but that works only forr diagnosis, not optimization. That is the main reason of company being hesitant to work on old swaps. people just dont bother about these things while doing swaps.

By the way, that plug would be present in N16's dashboard wiring, right ?

Ghunchas sunny doen not have that plug Now Akif (new owner) is finding it and fixing it. wiring loom has the wires, just the plug needed. He optimized it wothout the scanner, dont know how. It is still the benchmark car for us

Yes the plug is part of dashboard wiring. As per some rules, scan port cannot be more then 100 inches away from steering, dont know why.

Indeed I'm learning a lot of things before proceeding for swap. Fortunately, my B13 dhakka started this morning even though gasket is burnt. So I got little more time now to seek advice from seniors.

Would appreciate if you guys can list the most important components/sensors to look for, so I can ask the engine guy to provide them as complete engine package. That plug is noted
