This is my agony over and over again when dealing with either KDA, KESC, SSGC, KWSB, Customs, SBP anywhere.. A letter or application of something is required, I draft it in my best diction with my best grammar, and they screw it up - Just recently I made a POA for a piece of land in Karachi.
some (high ranking) nutjob in KDA says that the POA is wrong as it does not contain the words of SALE, RENT, LEASE etc.. WTF???? read the entire 2 page document... it gives all and absolute power for any actions and deeds... I was on the phone and this guy was getting on my nerves. I told him that does the entire KDA have a literacy problem?? because this time Im going to draft it in urdu - and if needed I can also give a street lingo tapori translation for it too. This same diction document was perfectly accepted in the UK for the same purpose.
The guy got offended - WTF MANNN, firstly he says that a document in its entirety which allots all and absolute power for ALL ACTIONS is wrong - then gets offended when I say I can provide that to you in urdu too.
I have had success in submitting such documents in urdu - as most people in such positions are stuck with A for apple english. We (family) were tangled with a KESC mess for 3 years (talk about cluster eff) until I said to my father that we write an application in the simplest urdu possible. The problem got solved very quickly.
I believe that the A for apple bunch is relying on a verbatim translation of a document and do not know of anything further. The document that he showed me as an example was the worst compiled, ill meaning stupid bull potty english composition I had ever read.
My question is that WHY are we still using English as official language when 90% of our people cannot make sense of it.
