Englon basically means England-London and was Geely’s brand under which it would build the London Taxi series but it appears that Geely have bigger plans for the Englon brand than just a taxi brand, they appear to be making it into their new budget brand, hence the SC5-RV rolls out.
The SC5-RV seems to be a cleverly thought out vehicle judging by the pictures where there are plenty of storage spaces and also the DVD/GPS system. Geely will bring the Englon SC5-RV to the market on 11-11 with available engine options of 1.3, 1.3 Turbo and 1.5. The 1.3T will be the sporty one with 95kw and 186nm, mated to either a six-speed manual or a 7-speed dual clutch. Both gearboxes will be only available for the 1.3T, the other engines will have 5-speed manuals or 4-speed auto transmission options.
Official pricing is yet to be disclosed but it is speculated to start very cheap from 50,000 yuan and end around 70,000 yuan. (6.38 lac PKR to 8.93 lac PKR)
EDIT: Englon SC5-RV has been officially launched. Price starts from 55300rmb (7.06 lac PKR) to 59300rmb (7.57 lac PKR) only.
