I think there is a problem in your car. Not all diesel car need frequent check up of wheel alignment. Howere you are right for some extent that diesel car require more maintainace compared to Petrol cars.

I own corolla 82 (92 Quota) and I have converted it to deiesel 2C engine (which is still used in Corolla 2006). It has no problem. I have to do the checkup of Alignment after 6 months. I am driving it since last 9 years. It has very excellent pick up (same like petrol car). It give unbelievable fuel average. Perhaps you will not agree it gives 17 Km/liter.

Here are the advantage of diesel car

1. Easy fuelling
2. Much reliable
3. More weight carriage
4. Much resale value (remember 80 % of Pakistani population live in village/small cities)
5. Excellent pickup compared to CNG
6. Less expensive fuelwise

I think diesel car is much much better then petrol car.

i agree with you on things you've mentioned. but I maintain that if conversion is not close to perfection then you can expect frequent problems of alignment and clutch (in my experience) especially in very bumpy roads and in mountainous terrain. I also think that diesel was an excellent option about 4-5 years back but now its price going high day by day and it's not going to come down as nothing in this country does. and i have also seen people changing their petrol cars oil after 3000 to 4000km and this you cannot afford in diesel car.

diesel engine apart, corolla 82 is hell of car. and probably the only car that can afford to have much heavier engine inside than its original.

i also would like you to read the article "problems with diesel turbo engine" in web site 4xforum. Actually that article changed my perception of dealing with diesel car and helped me increase its life.(in my opinion)

You are commenting that CNG is cheap compared to diesel. You are right according to the current situation but I think you are wrong if you predict the future situation. You know Pakistani nation (Ham Sab) just follow the trend whether it is right or wrong. We don't condier it quality attribute and other factor.

Now a day every one is converting his car to CNG or buying CNG car. Can you predict the futuer price of CNG (in next five year). I am sure it will be much much higher than Petrol. You also know there is no rigid policy of our government. Today Pakistan is signing a pact with Iran on Gas pipeline which will perhaps fulfill our CNG requirement if it is completed. But who give you surity of this pact. Today Musharaf is president, perhaps in next year it will hanged or passed away. Will next government (BB, Nawaz obviously) follow the policy of Musharaf. I think never.

Furthermore Pakistan alone can't fulfill gas requirement of we people. Perhaps (God save from this incidence) Iran will be sriked by US then where will be the Gas pact. I think in futuer CNG will be much much expensive than CNG.

As for as article is concerned I have read it it relate to the Turbo engine (4x type) which are not used in Sedan.
These engine are used for racing and pulling heavy weight purpose.

Brother never never go for CNG if you have to drive the wheel in remote area, highway, hilly area. Go for CNG obviously if you have to drive in city only.

Dear kashmir 1

Toyota puts 2.0D engine in the same car in which they have been putting 2E engine (previous indus model). What I beleive it has the same susoensions, stock tyres and other chasis items. This chasis sucessfullly bears all the odds of 2.0l diesel engine.

Now a days toyota is also advertising the 2.0D. I guess is there any change to occur in 2.0D engine i. e 2C? or their sale of 2.0D has dropped?

sir i think the delivery on diesel corolla is quick now reason being that less no. of people are buying that especially rent a car people. its hard to believe that toyota has increased its capacity to manufacture diesel cars.
secondly i heard that there is a single big mafia behind new and old imported cars.I also heard that vitz is being mainly imported by toyota car company. so they can manipulate both the markets.

about new 2.0 d corolla. someone owning it can give better comments.
