Exhaust muffler effects on fuel consumption?

Assalamoalikum;;
ii have a khyber 95 which give 125 km on cng....i have listen that if u installed a sports exhaust muffler in it ....it consume more fuell...i have hand made muffler ...i want to asked that if i installed in it how much fuel did it consume? and it is true that it effects on cng??i only cut down the main exhaust not 2 which one is installed in between and on is installed with the engine..

only exhaust tip has no harm .... fuel economy isnt changed
though removing the resonator in b/w the headers and exhaust tip or free flow reduces torque and economy is effected

that means a hand made muffler that cost 1000 0r 1500 will not effect the fuel and the engine if i do n't remove the resonator

what about just installing a muffler at the back on original piping?

Just installing an exhaust tip has no effect on the fuel economy whatsoever but the thing is that when you install an aftermarket exhaust, you tend to rev the car more just to hear that lovely sound note which results in a much higher fuel consumption. But if you have a light foot, then it's no problem.

when i had the stock engine...went lahore 2 times

once with stock tip...average was around 180 or 190.....next time with after market tip....i covered 210 yet with reserve light remaining

no Idea about the petrol

and in city i was getting around 160km .......but isb roads at some points r more like highway....so u can take 150 or below....

This all was done with low rpm revs and speed around 110km/H

any exhaust mufler that can resist exhaust gases to come out can effect feul consumption a little plus loss of power as well. if you want to increase feul economy and horse power then you will have to change the whole exhaust system. in our country those performance exhausts are not available so thats out of question. because when you replace exhaust system with the performance one then you also should replace air filtering system with the performance one in order to get the best performance out of your engine. the exhaust systems available here and the ones which are louder, i mean the sports mufler only, will effect feul economy because they produce a loud noise and to produce this loud noise they resist exhaust gases. my advice is not to install any sports mufler but you can use any other mufler, hand made or stock, and it will not effect the performance and feul economy

the life of the exhaust is highly dependant on the materials used (e.g. SS) and how quickly the engine comes to operating temperature. If its run dead cold with no thermostat and direct fan all day long the exhaust gases would contain high moisture which will eat away the exhaust inside out
