Experience of hydraulic jack

experience changing tyre for first time as some sharp metallic thing punctured rear tyre
bought a 4 ton hydraulic jack an year ago as its easier to use, was originally looking for the one which tyre shops have but smaller in size, couldnt find that n ended up with this
first thing is its rod is pretty small, half my arm was under the car to use it, also its pretty useless for civic atleast as the maximum it lifted wasnt enough to remove the tyre, had to use conventional jack in which you have to apply lots of force, point used to lift was same which tyre shop did, it was rear left side tyre n i placed jack on left side of tyre

any1 else experienced this jack?

where can i find the other jack which tyre shops use? smaller in size enough for civic

It wont fit under your civic with flat tire, If you place this jack randomly under the car you will damage the car, Only lift from dedicated lift points (under the floor sill where the original places are marked).

The original factory screw type scissor jack is perfectly easy to use as this is a pretty light car.

invest in tyre inflation device like i did
fill up the puncture tyre and drive to the tyre shop
let them do the job for u

these heavy jacks would keep bouncing around in the car boot and create useless fussy sounds. tubeless tyres hardly touch down. and regular car jack is enough to do the job.
a little work out is good for health

Bottle jacks are mostly used in 4x4 or light commercial use. And there pretty unsafe. I stop using them 10 years ago

Well its a dream for me to own n use this jeck on my car, as i have to use 2 jecks to lift car in emergency situation, one at front under the bumper, then second jeck under the side panel,
Make your car slammed it will be fun they said!

THey are good as rams for small hydraulic press.

I have a 10 ton floor jack that can lift 23 inches - its about 5 ft long too. Makes work a breeze.

That sound like a lorry jack. It must way a bit. Bottle jack make good home made presses. I use an alloy floor jack light as a feather. 2 pumps and it's up.

before I purchased a car, old owner buy and put jack in that same as at tyre shop but in small size. once I need to use that. that was good to use. that was in a bag. I saw that jacks at here on shops. never check price for that.
Now I have air pump in my car, 2 times my car got puncture, I fill air in tire and went to tire shop. no need to use jack.

u know when the tyre got punctured i was actually thinking about inflation device that @jz was selling but then i thought what would be its use when its punctured but you are right, fill up air go to shop n let them take the headache
but wouldnt work if u r on motorway
the tyre shop was hardly at a distance of 500 meters but air was completely out so had to change tyre myself
gotta get that tyre device now
already i keep hearing sound of wheel lock all the time from trunk

around an year ago i did tried using the simple jack for rear tyre but well i didnt had any idea n i couldnt lift the car, luckily driver was with me so he changed it
a little work out is good but it feels like alot of workout, car may not be heavy but there's a 55l cng cylinder at rear as well to lift

btw this hydraulic jack cant be used with this car? atleast at that point it was useless, maybe from back side it may have lifted but with that so small rod what can be done :S
