Fellow Pakwheelers
A few weeks back , my brother purchased a Swift 2012 DLX, manual tranny and 65k kms driven from a 3S Dealer (6 month or 7.5k kms warranty).
I was out of the country at that time so was only able to test drive the car last week. I found that the car is having following issues:
1- Clutch pedal feels hard
This is not felt directly when I am driving, but after driving for 30 - 35 mins, I start feeling pain in my left leg. While driving the manual Honda City 2014 and previously Civic 1996, i never felt this. I discussed this with my mechanic and he said that the Clutch cylinder of swift is small and swift has a hard (and uncomfortable) clutch.
Kindly confirm if my mechanic is right or there is some problem with my car.
2- Car's first startup i.e. moving the car from stop to moving position is very bad, I need to be very careful while releasing the clutch and accelerating the vehicle so that the engine doesn't power off.
This experience reminds me of driving Baleno 2003 with cng on hilly roads, the only difference is that Baleno used to behave under powered even after the startup, whereas swift becomes a beast once it gets moving. This problem sometimes totally disappears and sometimes it becomes very intense.
I got the car checked by the 3S and they say its okay and swift drives in this way only, which is very difficult for me to believe.
3- Suspension is very hard
I currently own a Corolla Gli 2015, and if I compare the ride comfort on Karachi's roads between the swift and Corolla - Swift is not even 50% of that.
Kindly advise and give your feedback on what should I do. The car is still under warranty, and I am not sure that either to keep this car or swap it with a brand new Wagon R VXL
