Explain cng meter readings pls?

hey friends ,

i often saw my cng filled and got a different readings in my cng meter can some one please explain this to me what would be the reading if i fill my 55l cylinder i mean what would be the exact reading on my cng meter 200 or 220 ? also how it drops i mean when u have 4 lights it should be some reading when it drops down to 3 lights it should be some reading and so on can some one please explain this whole reading to me so i will keep eye on my meter aswell thanks in advance

regarding ur cng meter reading it depends upon the pressure of the cng station

if u have filled gas at less pressure it will show u the 4 lights but actually ur cylinder is not full

check for cng station having 220 gas pressure then get ur cng filled from there and check ur meter
Note ur meter reading will vary upon ur usage i.e internal city reading may differ from long drive.

basically cng meter have a circuit on it or a slide circuit attached to the kit.

thanks for replying vicky i know all that what i dont know or what my original question is there is a meter in your bonnet that have different reading starting from 100 to 300 now if your cylinder is full it shows u have about 200 and as u use it , the reading decrease what i am asking if pressure is 220 when we fill our cylinder and if we got 55l cylinder what would be the reading in that meter and when one light drop what would be the reading than and so on till red light comes there must me some parameters how that lights goes please enligtened me there thanks in advance .

[LEFT]if your potentiometer (variable resistance that senses pressure & controls l.e.ds) is accurately adjusted then every l.e.d. (green or red) accounts for approx 600 psi. hence each drop of l.e.d. light indicates a pressure reduction of 600 psi. this i am talking about a cylinder having 55-litre capacity, & ofcourse stating my own experience.

As per my observation about Landi renzo potentio meter every green LED will drop on 40_bar pressure,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
Fourth LED off means cylinder pressure is 160_bar<o:p></o:p>
Third LED off means 120_bar<o:p></o:p>
Second LED off 80_bar<o:p></o:p>
Last green off 40_bar<o:p></o:p>
RED LED means reserve below 40 to 05_bar

cheers bobbylink your observation is same as mine when i checked it last time cylinder was full just after 200 and light drops every after 40 so last light will drop probably when its on 40 and then red light will escort few more miles thanks for sharing your experience .

My Alto 2003 behave as follows:

First Light goes after 50-55km
second light goes after 65-70km
third light goes after 75-80km
Red light comes after 95km

Hi,

Our switches do not measure the Qty/KG of gas, rather measure the Pressure.

Quality (so quantity) of CNG is volatile always, cannot be measured like Ltr of petrol.

BUT there is setting of SENSOR (installed at CNG kit), I think CNG mechanic could set it according to your choice as well, at what pressure to show how many lights.

Four lights on switch are higher level version of one installed on tank (pressure gauge) that gives more detailed pressure. There is one new digital switch being advertised on emails (for Rs 1,200) that shows digit of pressure with button.

That's why we get different pressures from different pumps, even same pumps. It depends
1 - Compression, whether it's compressed already and/or Compressor is on at time of filling. To what extent it's compressed
2 - Temperature of compressed gas
3 - Air mixture used by pumps
4 - Temperature of car cylinder, environment

cheers fasfas indeed another detail answer more over i would like to add with factory default setting the first light always takes long to go and then last 3 ones go quick now theres no way to be specific that what would be the exact km readings the lights will go unless u set it by mechanic and he will set the sensor as per your choice .
