seems like while fixing back the cable, the adjustment of the wire didn't sit well. Because its manual thing.
Sometimes the clutch wires get badly jam and wd40 works as temporary solution only.
If its actual problem of the cable and that cable is not available in market, even then no issues. There are few people who can replicate the wire & it works for decades. I can share the contact numbers of the people who are wire specialists. But you have to take out original cable and visit them in person.
