how many of you people knew that there were restrictions on paksuzuki from the government ? how many of you knew the reason behind the booking restrictions on suzuki swift, better to get answers then just waste your time pointlessly saying anything that comes to your mind about this whole new way taken up by paksuzuki. Not defending paksuzuki in any way but theres always people who have problems with whatever others say, always ready to debate, dont you all take out your frustration on the poster and talk to him like your talking to paksuzuki itself, the guy wanted to clear out some mis-understandings, I dont think hes here to debate about anything. I found this very informative.

I get so tired seeing this again and again. Its such a valuable place, but destroyed by needless arguments. I dont understand the fact that if someone doesnt like a thread, why do they have to post a reply...

Dont blame paksuzuki for all this, if they improved their safety according to international standards you would be paying twice or may be thrice of what you are paying now, suzukis are cheap cars and iv been seeing mehran on road since forever and cultus is no better in terms of quality either, we had an alto back in 2003 and the parts just kept falling off but in 595,000/ it was the best value new car for us. Now pak suzuki is trying to improve atleast let them give them a chance. Na improve karein tu masla hai or agar improve karna chahe tu compensation lenay kharay hojatay hain, lives cannot be brought back but safety and quality standards can be improved so that in future there arent any more safety issues. TRY to improve and use your brains rather than arguing over something which is done.

Really? Looks like lack of knowledge! FYI FOB of Korean assembled 800cc hatchback (you know the brand) is US$4000 and it's way ahead of Suzuki in terms of quality etc. Local assembled 800cc FOB can't be more than that. You do rest of the calculations and tell others how Suzuki is charging less?

This is all I want to say, IT is gaurnteed if they imporve their standards according to international market the prices will go up and by saying up i mean very UP. I dont want to calculate anything and I dont know the exact figures or anything but I can say prices will go up. I AM NOT DEFENDING PAK SUZUKI. I still think they make crap cars but HEY they are not the only one ripping people off with ridiculously high prices and low standards. Take suzuki swift as a good step towards better standards because thats what I heard on this forum swift is better in quality, I cannot say further more because I havent seen the swift with my own eyes.

Dude, the people right now endure it, they will embrace Pak-suzuki once the Price of its cars are justified. Now whatever that takes!

Yeah, we;re buying an improved HatchBack by PakSuzuki for `1 Mil. exclusive of the overheads that shall be incurred by the buyer.
Quite usual to predict that price for an new and improved Bolan.

I never wish them to leave Pakistan. That will create a job crunch! But oh well, if our Government were optimistic then we could have created policies that can help create local Auto industry from small scale mechanics -

seriusly? probably then we can have cheaper imported cars or less leasing rates like singapore, then we going to have USDM, JDM and thai models side by side... hahaha that rules.

i do agree about the costs but theve increased accordingly,

in 2005, a Cultus VXL costed around 650, Baleno 749, CIty 795, XLi, 825, the price has increased in the similar manner,

but yet again nuthings reasonable

dawn bread used to cost 9-12 rs now costs 29

Pepsi costed 35-40 now costs 70 hahaha lets say vl have to live with it. o

1. The level of localization increases with the passage of time usually. Don't know for sure about swift but if you remember correctly Civic initially came with Bridgestone tires later changed to local ones. Hence people who are saying this do have a valid point which MAY or MAY NOT turn out to be true.

2. Regarding you comment that ON is created by investors, I agree with that but right now with investors out of the picture (since no swifts aresold on individual booking) why are official showrooms still asking for huge amounts of premiums?...Does this mean Suzuki people themselves are investors this time?

3. Regarding your views on Swift. I agree with you even though the car came in Pakistan late, it is still a good car in my view and possibly the best car made by Paksuzuki right now.<o:p></o:p>

4. Regarding the criticisms faced by Paksuzuki you have to understand that quality issues in vehicles can cost someone’s life. What is more important, the image of a company that sends its profits back to Japan or the safety of citizens of this country. I am not saying local automakers should offer BMWs with eight airbags but at least give defect free cars with normal breaks.<o:p></o:p>

5. Bro even people in government and local auto industry at times have criticized the Japanese for not allowing proper transfer of technology intentionally. Look at the whole picture bro, Suzuki Japan are dumping obsolete carb based engines in their cars here not utilized anywhere in the world since 1980s due to extreme levels of hazardous emissions. Think about it the Japanese are doing business here for a reason and exploiting absence of government enforced quality and emission standards.<o:p></o:p>

6. All said the introduction of Swift is a good move and is appreciated. Still however, quality is very important and should not be forgotten. If local industry can improve we can finally start exporting cars which is badly needed for the economy right.<o:p></o:p>

I want to add a note to my earlier post about my hearsay about Suzuki's impending exit from the Pak market and that is one must factor in VW's stake in Suzuki and plans to acquire majority stake in the same. From sourcing of diesels, worldwide market repositioning and development of new generation of small cars the VW acquisition will lead Suzuki on a new path, is what i was given to understand. And, that includes reevaluation of existing markets too.

Pakisuzuki wants to improve the standard if its carrs? Joke the century. they will double the prices even if they fulfil their promise. and why only improve Swift? Cultus, mehran aur liana ka kya kasur hai???

Not immediately , but gradual exit is what i was told. Again, i want to emphasize my "hearsay" , but i also wish to reiterate that it is VW that is calling the shots. Cheers!.
