I am sharing our experience of Fairy Meadows and Base Camp Nanga Parbat expedition which we did in Summer 2012. I know it’s very late to share but I think it worth sharing than not to.
Our journey starts from Lahore where we seven friends made a plan to go to Fairy Meadows. It was a 5 day trip and we enjoyed every moment of it (H). Daily activities are as follows:
Day 1
We started bus journey from Lahore to Mansera where we hired a Toyota Hi-Ace. The driver’s name was Muhammad Malik who also the malik of that vehicle
. The start from Mansera was at around 10 am and we reached Chillas at 8 pm.
Day 2
We started going towards Raikot Bridge at 8 30 am and reached near 12 pm. Then hired two jeeps till Taato village and started hike at around 1 30 pm and reached Fairy Meadows at 4 pm.
Day 3
Start hiking towards Nanga Parbat Base camp. Got a little rest in Beyal camp had coffee and soup there and continued towards base camp. Reached base camp and returned to Beyal camp and night stary there. The hotel owner Mr. Ahsan Ullah was a very nice and supportive man. He is in one of the pictures.
Day 4
Started to go back to Fairy Meadows and tried to call home in search of mobile signals at signal point in Fairy Meadows. In the afternoon, we called our jeeps to escort us to Raikot. The van driver was waiting for us. We get to the van and reached Chillas for night stay.
Day 5
Back home.
Costs were:
Transportation 58,500 (Van charged Rs. 4,500/day without fuel)
