Dear All,

Can we visit to Fairy Meadow in winter season (January/February), and can we spend couple of nights over there. What will be the level of snow? Accomodation and food will be available or not. Any extra precautionary measurement.

Please comment accordingly.

No you cannot visit Fairy Meadows in JAN/FEB as there is very very hard to move ahead due to heavy snowfall.

i think its impossible, as due to heavy snow, its quite tough to reach there...

it is possible to reach fairy meadows in jan feb but will be very tuf as u ll have to trek from well b4 tato villege in snow ull need proper gear and ull need maybe 1 nite stay in between

better to discuss with some local at FM, in december 15 people team visited, just this last december 2011, u can call HAYAT JAN, he is owner of BroadView FM huts, fazal is his brother, hayat cell 0313-7993740, the locals themselves also moves to tatu in winter, and they can accompany u to FM, from tatu......

it is cent percent possible.

about 8 years back i reached tatu in 7 hours from raikot ....might i need to pass a night in way now (analyzing my current fitness level). at third or 4rth day at fairy meadows or any place in that region were one can pitch his tent.

i feel it is amazing plan if someone can implement it... i wish i could but not chance of a long long week's CHUTII from office....

it only require time and will, rest it is certainly possible....

^ ^ shah sb, u must have used the old trekking route to reach tatu.I'm amazed where did u find place to pitch the tent as the trek is quite narrow..

I havent been there in Winters but the best weather would not be this time. Most of the people on fairy meadows move to Chillas due to heavy snowfall. so you wont b able to hire a ranch or camp there. But if u do plan to go take proper measures for stayng and hiking. Spring would b the best time to reach Nanga Parbat base camp..due to snow the base camp would b desserted by now so you wont get any facilities in Bayal camp either

that's the real beauty and thrill of tour. no facility, no one, deserted place only u and nangaperbet and nothing else... well yes, it will not be possible to reach near nanagaperbet base camp or bayal camp. might even at fairymeadows, but staying a few days there will be experience unforgettable.

arey Shah ji, We didnt pitched tent those days coz "ATISH USS WAQT JAWAN THA"... am saying if one trek on the jeep road (current route to tatu) than he can pitch his tent on jeep road which obviously will be closed in winters...

^ ^ Agreed...weyessay AATISH abhi bhi jawan hi hai,weyessay hi zara kamzour-shamzour ho gaya hai due to improper meals.
BTW it will be hell cold at night.

Fairy meadow ma bass baraf hi hogi change.. aur koi khas baat nahi

Aur islamabad say sirf fairy meadow aur wo bhi off-season and difficult due to snow (2,3 day trip k liyay jana bhi zara hectic ha) go for at least one weak.. and add some more destinations..

in season to sab jatey hain,, maza to tab hai jab off season jaya jaey...

last year feb 11, sharan, foul weather,, snow and wind storm,,, passed a night xtreme temperatures... that was the pleasure,,

feb 2010, almost -10 degree banjosa and toli peer... amazing,,,,,

have shared those trips here on pakwheel as well... offseason region ki beauty hi alag hoti hai...
and

IMTISHAL bhiya ki trah hamien bhi wahan jana acha hi nahi lagta jahan zara log woq hun... and i know the topic starter as well,, he is a fierce trekker... hence i told him that cent percent implementable plan... agar koi aur yehi question karta to shayad mera answer different hota

Yes I agree with your view point, there is no match of beauty between summer & winter in our northern areas. I visited Saif uk maluk first time in March-2004 in snow fall & fell in love with lake but after that whenever I visited Saif ul Maluk in summer, it did not attract me as huge gathering is always present there. Similarly I visited Swat (till Bahrain) & Galliat many times in winter & enjoyed a lot. You can see the beauty of Saif ul Malook in below pic
