Day 6:
After spending 4 nights and 5 days in the mountains, none of us felt like leaving.
Our final morning in Nathiagali was no different than the previous one. After Fajar, we went for our customary early morning walk in the sleepy Nathiagali town. The breeze was crisp and fresh. The morning light piercing through the tall pine trees and shining on healthy foliage and the different shades of green made for a wonderful, refreshing sight. Subhan Allah! You have to see and experience it to know what I am trying to express in words.
Our plan was to leave by 11 a.m. and this time we were headed to Peshawar. This would be our first trip to Peshawar as a family. This trip by the grace of Allah swt was mainly to have the kids sample the real McCoy, the famous Charsi Tikka. The drive down from the mountains was breathtaking. It took us almost an hour to reach the Abbottabad bypass. The newly built Abbottabad bypass and the Hazara motorway are superb. Enjoyed driving on it. Ahmed and I changed seats on M1. He drove us all the way to Peshawar and to our destination i.e. Khyber Charsi Tikka House on GT Road. My plan was to go to Namak Mandi to the famous Nisar Charsi Tikka but Google Maps had other plans. All roads to Namak mandi were marked red. No way was I going to go there now and risk the chance of getting stuck in traffic.
Anyway, I quickly recalled in my mind the place on GT Road that I had visited on my previous trip to Peshawar. We went straight to the place and found parking right in front of the family hall entrance. Arrived at our destination at around 3:30 pm and had to wait for about 45mins for our order to be served. The Namkeen Charsi Tikka and Pulao were delicious. One more box ticked. Shukar Alhamdolillah.
From there, Ahmed drove us straight to our Guest House in F7 Islamabad. We reached there at around 8 pm. Freshened up and drove close by to Jinnah Super for some burgers from Burger Fest. We sat in the car and ordered 4 burgers and a Limka soda each. The burger was very satisfying. After that, we spent some time exploring the market. No pictures of the burgersā¦
