Family Road Trip to Astore, Rama, Deosai, Skardu, Shangrilla, Babusar Top July 2012

First of all many thanks for sharing your lifetime experience in such detailed and excellent way I loved your style of narration. I just wanted to get one info from you about the trout fish what was the per 1KG rate of trout after cooking how much you paid for 1kg.

And keep on rolling the pictures

We paid 1200 Per kg for the prepared Fish for the one those have rainbow colours. (These are the original ones not from the farms )

For the two trouts in black colour, they are from farm and these are available for Rs 800/ (Prepared one.)

Great yaar but I must say in Naran they are literally looting the masses when I checked the rate of original trout the one you mentioned the one with brown shaded dots that person in Naran was selling in whooping 3500/= Rs per KG and you enjoyed it in 1200/= lucky you.

It's a huge difference in prices in all aspects hotels, transportation you name it in every thing huge differences, lastly how was it's taste as compare to Simon, Mushka Fish as we usually eat here in cities?.

We Eat Trout In Sawat in 2007 Rs. 400 Per Kg & We Eat Approx 5 Kg it was February & Snow All Over Sawat what a time that was ...!

With the grace of Allah, I planned my trip by the help of my fellow pakwheelers brothers. To whome I contacted he helped

@Hassan bhae very nice pics Mashallah, we guys are planning to visit Deosai Park by the end of August but the issue is "time" and we need to manage this trip in just 3 days,Can you please let me know if it is possible to touch Deosai park and return to lahore in just 3 days time? also what is the best possible route to Deosai park?

I think different places have different rate depending upon the demand & Supply.

Taste of the fish is toooooooooo goooooood .......... :).

Trout taste is different and cannot compare it with local fishes (Local fish have its own type of taste :))

Weather was pleasent in July. But In november it will be too cold......... (And may have snow falling as well)

From Lahore to Abbotabad - 6hr

Abbotababad to Chillas 10-12 hrs

Chillas to Astore 5-6 hrs

Astore to Deosai: 6-7 Hrs

So in 3 days you have 72 hrs approx. and one side travel in ideal condition will take 30-32 hrs.

You will better calculate the rest.

One more thing there is no space to stay at Deosai so you have to plan day trip to Deosai

I'll advise you to increase the no of day in order to enjoy the beauty.

Minimum time 7 days to see and to have resonable rest which is compulsary.

How is the road condition from Astore to Deosai and then from Deosai to skardu?
Can we pass that road on a car?

You can back from babusar pass. How is the road on that side. Can we pass it on a car?

I have spoken to @asifcae as well he has same thoughts,i have been to Deosai back in 2005 and yes it seems difficult to get there in less than 30 hours,but what if i use the Babusar top's way to get in to challas?i know this sounds really crazy but seriously i have just 3 days for this and i really want to visit Deosai once again,i have 4x4 and we have 3 drivers in total so keeping it simple is it possible if i start from lahore at 9pm and reach astore next day 9pm!!

Day 1
For 3 days leave lahore at 12.00am
use motor way and u can be at manshehra at 6.00am
u will be at naran at 10a.m*
Babusar top 2.pm*
Chilass 5.pm
Raikot 7.pm
astore 10pm
stay at astore kamran hotel
Day 2
*leave next day at 4.30 am for chilam
u will be at chilam at 8.00*
and then u enter Deosai plane and go upto Sheosar lake*
leave sheosar lake at 2.pm*
back at astore at 8pm
over night sat there.
Day 3
Leave astore at 3.30 am
raikot 8.00 am
chilass 10.am
babusar 2.pm
naran 5.pm
lahore 6.am or so

but this will not leave any space for any kind of undue stops and other unavoidable circumsatances.
