Family Trip and camping to Kaghan, Naran, Naltar, Hunza via KKH

AoA, I hope everyone is fine and through with the Qurbani. Eid Mubarak to all. I just got some time and thought to pen down highlights of my recent family trip to northern areas. I was planning this trip since long but due to official commitments could not materialise it. By the grace of God, I managed to get leaves and planned a memorable adventure cum camping visit with my family.

We are four members, myself, my wife and 02 kids both girls age 9 and 7. Vehicle used was Corolla Altis 1.6 2017. We started our journey from Jacobabad on 6th August 18 and went directly to Islamabad. Next day to Naran the details are follows:-

06 Aug 18 Jacobabad to Islamabad.
Started the journey at 0600 hrs and travelled through out the day. Reached Islamabad around 2200 hrs by stopping for lunch dinner and some more stopovers. Few pics during the travel are:-

Rest of the itenrary is as follows:-

07 Aug reaches Naran, Night stay in PMA huts

08 Aug wheels roll for Gilgit, night stay at Chilas due land sliding near Governor farm.

09 Aug reached Gilgit and then to Naltar, night stay at PAF Mess Naltar.

10 Aug visit to satrangi lake, pari lake and blue lake. Then wheels roll for hunza. Night stay in hunza at SCO Mess.

11 Aug visit to Atabad lake and then back to Naran. Night stay in Naran.

12 Aug visit to lake Saif-ul-Muluk. Then travel to kaghan and night stay at camp.

13 Aug started travel back home. Reached shorkot and Night stay at PAF Base Rafique

14 Aug reaches Jacobabad.

I will post details of activity done at each place including rafting, water sports, camping etc with pictures as soon as I get time. Specially the camping is interesting and a lot of info needs to be shared.

Fortunately I have sometime so writing the details.

I started of the journey at 0600 hrs on 6 Aug from Jacobabad. The route taken was Jacobabad - Kashmore- DG Khan - Muzaffargarh - Jhang - Gogra - M4 - M3 - M2 - PAF Base Nurkhan.

The route is comfortable and can be managed easily. I have stoped for lunch and dinner plus few more times for meeting the call of nature. Weather at Jacobabad was hot however, as we travelled towards north the atmosphere became good and the greenery started to inspire us. As I got limited days to enjoy so I have taken decision to reach Islamabad in one go, otherwise one can night stop at multan to take rest.

We spent the night at Nurkhan Mess and planned to move early in the morning to Naran. Fortunately or unfortunately the rain continued the whole night and when we woke up it still was raining. Coming from Jacobabad, one enjoys the rain as it rains occasional there. It looked very nice. I stared outside towards my car, the wheels were submerged in the rain water accumulated in front of our room.

I went outside to make the car ready for journey. While I was trying to sit inside the car making way over the water, I dropped my car key inside the water. I quickly picked it up and dried it immediately to avoid short circuit inside key less entry system. I was afraid that it may become unserviceable due to water so I made every effort to dry it up. Fortunately it was ok. We packed up and started our journey through motorway and hazard expressway. Few clips are as under:-

very nice and congrats on a successful journey - one thing - i have heard that one is very very motivated and enjoying at time of going but on return journey, the driving becomes too difficult and one fails to enjoy the longggg route back home - how far is it true?

To some extent it is true, but if u don’t consider it a burden it will not disturb u. This is a fact that return journey always become boring that is the reason I have kept some places to see during return.
